What's Mabel Wearing????

This week Mabel is wearing my #1 obsession in the store, the Joie Laurel Top! I love, love, love this top (see my wish list). For jewellery, I wanted it to be organic, but with a hint of bling, so I layered a Karyn Chopik heart necklace with a Chan Luu charm necklace, and topped it off with a Jocelyn Kennedy crystal necklace. I love this jewellery combo! To keep Mabel warm, )it gets cold when people are opening and closing the door), I added a grey Chan Luu scarf.
Doesn't Mabel look like Jessie this week?

Jessie's Christmas List

Here are my top five picks for Christmas. Honestly, it wasn't easy narrowing it down...there are just too many pretty things.

1. Winter Kate Ophelia Dress: I'm a huge fan of Winter Kate, and this dress is one of my favourites, especially for the holiday season. I love the velvet floral pattern; I think its super luxurious! This would definitely be my dress of choice for Christmas Day dinner with all the relatives (and its not super fitted, so it will hide the little tummy that always seems to creep up on me over Christmas...it's hard to resist all those holiday treats).

2. Plush Fleece Lined Footless Tights: These are a must have for me this winter. They are so warm and cozy, perfect for an Edmonton winter. Wearing dresses and tunics during the winter is never a warm choice, so these will add some extra insulation. Whoever said that being warm can't be stylish is definitely wrong ( hopefully I'll find a pair in my stocking...fingers crossed!).

 3. Juicy Couture Vintage Ring: I have a slight addiction to large cocktail rings ( I'm sure I'm not the only one), so it's easy to see why this ring made my list. Plus, you ALWAYS need to have some sparkle during the holidays, and this ring definitely sparkles!

4. Juicy Jacquard Cardi: I fell head-over-heels for this sweater as soon as it arrived in the store. Usually, I'm not a "pink" kinda girl, however the chunky knit, and pattern gave this sweater a bohemian feel, which I love! This sweater would be my go to piece on an extra cold winter day.

5. Hanky Panky:  My mom got me hooked on these a few Christmas' ago, and now it has become a tradition to find a pair or two in my stocking on Christmas morning. These panties make the perfect stocking stuffers... I honestly wouldn't mind getting an entire stocking full of these; they are my favourite!

New Juicy Couture!

We received two new pieces from Juicy Couture: the "Mirrorball Check Jacket" in Pale Line, and the "Rouched Twill Tape Scarf" in Heather Prestige.
The scarf is super warm and cozy; it would be perfect with any winter coat to keep your neck toasty! I love the ruffles too... soo cute and girlie!
The Mirrorball Check Jacket is so cute and the detailing is impeccable! I absolutely LOVE how the model is wearing it with sweatpants...so cool and effortless. I love the look of dressing up sweatpants; it is a MAJOR trend, and I think that this jacket is a great way to do it! If you are not that adventurous, wear this jacket with a cute, silky top, paired with some bell bottoms like Diane, or with skinny jeans and a Lauren Moshi underneath, like me!

Drop by and check both pieces out!

Equipment!

We just received the Vapour Leopard Print Signature Blouse from Equipment! I absolutely LOVE this top; it's just so cool! I am loving the way Heidi Klum is wearing it...a little bit 80's by knotting it at the bottom. I'd wear this top with my grey James Twiggy Cargos and my black Chan Luu scarf for an effortlessly chic outfit. The Equipment tops are also a favourite amongst fashion insiders; Taylor Tomasi Hill, style editor for Marie Claire, is pictured wearing a sleeveless black Equipment top. I am such a huge fan of her style, it's edgy but still wearable. Drop by and check out our selection of Equipment!
* We also have the Equipment blouse in Opal Grey...more exciting colours to come!!!

Diane's Christmas Wish List

So, I understand that Christmas should be about giving, but I can't help but want, want, want (c'mon, I know I'm not the only one)!!! Below is a list of my top 5 picks for the season; I'm hoping that I'll find one, or two, or ALL of them under my tree Christmas morning (hint, hint)!!!

1. 7 For All Mankind Bell Bottoms: As stated in a previous post, I absolutely adore this jean! In fact, I can't get enough...I plan on wearing them year round whether they're a fashion do, or a fashion don't...who wants to live by the rules anyway???

2. Lauren Moshi Horse Print Tee: I have to admit, I've never been much of a t-shirt girl, always prefering the silky variety; however, I MUST own this tee! I totally envision myself pairing it with my favourite bell-bottom jeans, a fabulous faux-fur vest, and a totally blinged out necklace...boho at it's most glamourous...I'm breaking into a cold sweat just thinking about it!!!

3. Juicy Couture Military Cardigan: Those that know me, know I love sweaters, and cardigans in particular. This one by Juicy is one of my favourites...I see myself "Chanel-ing" this one. I'd wear this over a silky tank, and top off the ensemble with a TON of pearl and crystal necklaces...long and short. Sooo excited about this one!!!

4. Ted Baker Bacary Dress: If possible, I generally prefer pants to dresses, but I love this dress...I'm in love with it!  I feel that it is both modern and retro at the same time...I see it with opaque black tights, and sky high platforms...for an edgier feel, pair the dress with either a black leather jacket, or a faux-fur vest. The girl that shows up at a cocktail party in this outfit, will unquestionably be the "IT" girl.

5. Chan Luu silk/cashmere scarf: Like many of our customers, I am obsessed with these scarves...they are everything!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them; they're the perfect accessory to any outfit, and feel unbelievable! The colour I'm lusting after at the moment is "Cinder"...the perfect taupe shade...it'll go with everything in your wardrobe...I might not be able to wait until Christmas for this one!!!

* Hertz, Claire, Dharshi, and Bonnie...you DON'T have to own all these items yourselves, it's MY wish list...hahahaha!!!

Jerd's Christmas Wish List

We here at Yu Fashion have decided that we are going to blog our Christmas wish lists (Mom and Dad, I hope you're reading this). Here are my top 5 items:

1.  Joie Abstract Laurel Top: I tried this shirt on last week, and I am absolutely in LOVE. I love the print, the shape, and the fact it has sleeves, which are needed in the winter. I would wear this top with skinny jeans, my black motorcycle boots, and a black furry vest. I need this one!

2. Vince Striped Cardigan: This Vince sweater fits my criteria, it's oversized and comfy, and an added bonus, it's striped! Although this piece is from Vince Resort, I see myself wearing this sweater year round. It's super cute!

3. Lauren Moshi Lips Sweatshirt: I have a slight obsession with Lauren Moshi. The Lips Sweatshirt is my latest obsession, which we received in black with white lips. This would be the perfect layering piece to wear on a cold day walking around campus.

4. Mackage Peaches Jacket: This is a such a glamourous puffy coat; I love the fur trim! It will definitely keep me warm during the winter!

5. UGG Adirondack Boots: I love these boots, and to be honest, I am sick and tired of almost falling on the ice everyday! These have a great grip, so I would stop looking like the biggest klutz in Edmonton. These are probably the most practical item on my wishlist, although practical is usually not in my vocabulary.

Heather by Bordeaux

We just received two new pieces from Heather by Bordeaux: a silk/jersey tank and jersey/sequin wrap. They are great casual pieces that can be dressed up and/or down. I love the combination of silk and tee shirting in the tank! For daytime, I would pair this tank with some Karyn Chopik jewellery, and an oatmeal cardigan. For an evening look, I would wear some Claudia jewels, and a Sequin Line Cardigan. The wrap is super cute, and a great way to do sequins during the day. Also, the sequin scarf is detachable, so it is extremely versatile! Drop by and check it out!

Mabel is Ready For Winter...Are You?

The snow has arrived and Mabel is all set to face another cold, Edmonton winter in style (as always). The Mackage "Peaches" coat in Grey, will keep Mabel warm, and cozy. The fur trim collar adds a touch of glamour, which is always a good thing!!! We still have a great selection of Mackage and ADD winter coats in stock, as well as scarves (Chan Luu, Love Quote, Sir Alistar Rai), Ugg boots, and gloves. Something Else!

Something Else has the most cutting edge fashions at a great price point! The clothing is truly unique, and most definitely lives up to the name "Something Else." This shipment is the best one yet!!! I love all the long, drapey tanks...perfect for both leggings, and boots. My absolute favourite thing about Something Else is their use of pattern; all of their prints are so creative, and eye catching! Let us know what you think of the label. Drop by and check it out!

What's Mabel Wearing????

So the holidays are coming up sooner than realize, and Mabel is ready for all the holiday parties in her outfit this week! Mabel is wearing the new Juicy Couture "Hi Shine Drape Dress" in Club Navy, which is a great little velvet dress, a perfect (and trendy) alternative to your LBD. For bling, Mabel is wearing a Rock Crystal Necklace and Chain Scarf Necklace by Claudia. I love the combination with the navy! And of course, if Mabel is going out in this weather, she needs a fabulous coat... and Mackage has her covered. She is wearing the Black "Macy" Shearling Coat, which is fit for a glamorous evening. I think Mabel will be hitting all her holiday parties in style!

More from Line...

We just received more sweaters from Line: the "Nathan" wrap in Water Colour, the "Amanda" circle  in Sulphur and Storm Cloud, and the "Floyd" sequin bolero in Black. The Nathan sweater is my favourite piece; I envision wearing it 2 ways. The first would be to pair this with the new "it" jean, the bell-bottom, a slightly more fitted t-shirt, and platform shoes/boots...I'd throw on a couple (or more) MAJOR necklaces, and fabulous sunnies for good measure, and call it a day!!! I'll call this look my tribute to Rachel Zoe, stylist extraordinaire!!! The second (more practical) way I'd wear this sweater is over a boyfriend t-shirt, skinnies tucked into riding boots and/or Uggs, with a Chan Luu scarf wrapped haphazardly around my neck...hmmm, I can't decide which look I prefer more???

The "Floyd" sequin bolero, is the latest addition to our Line Holiday Collection. I think that this would be the perfect topper to any holiday dress; HOWEVER, my preferred way of wearing this piece is over something a bit more casual. This bolero would be amazing worn over one of our great Lauren Moshi swing tanks, skinny jeans and/or cargos, and to-die-for boots. In my opinion, sequins are good day and night...a little bling never hurt anyone!!!

Seven Velvet Pants

Velvet is huge this season, and the Velvet Skinny Bootcut pant is an easy, and subtle way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe. This pant has tons of stretch, and a slimmer fit then the regular Seven Bootcut jean, which actually is great for elongating your legs!!! It is sooooooo comfortable, make sure to give them a try the next time you come in!

Great Dresses From Ted Baker

So the holiday party season is almost here, and I'm sure a few of you are looking for the perfect party dress. Here are three super cute dresses that we received from Ted Baker:

The "Bacary" dress in Black, is my fav; I love the fringe chain collar and the bell-shaped sleeve. This dress definitely has a retro feel, but the chain detail makes it more edgy. A black leather jacket is the perfect piece to finish this look off.

The "Yambio" dress in Shell, is the perfect holiday party dress. This dress has a little bit of sparkle, which I think is a MUST during the holiday season, and the low cut back makes it super sexy. You will be turning heads in this dress!

The "Hosh" dress, which we received in Black, is more sophisticated, and would be great for a work party. You can amp up the sex appeal by wearing a pair of sky-high heels, and layering on your favourite Jocelyn Kennedy, and/or Claudia necklaces to add some sparkle.

Rich and Skinny Cargos

Great new cargos from Rich and Skinny! These Camp Cargo Jeans, which we received in Charcoal, are super comfy with lots of stretch, and for all of us taller girls, they are longer then the regular Rich and Skinny jean. These cargos are also less distressed, which makes them a little more dressy. I can't wait to wear these with my knee high boots! Come in and give them a try!

(Laurel top in Granite)      (Addison top in Off-White)

(Mikko top in Prussian)

The goodies just keep pouring into the store! Joie just arrived, and everything is stunning ( I want everything!). Here is a little sampling of what came in...trust me, it will be hard to pick just one.
