What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel was a lucky girl and received a whole bunch of cash for Christmas, and in typical fashion, COULD NOT wait to blow it!!! Sooo...she's convinced one of her girlfriends to accompany her on a quick trip to Vegas for the weekend, just in time to hit all the post Christmas sales. Mabel is all ready to leave, sporting the perfect "plane to lunch" outfit. She has on Free People's "Baja Denim" jacket, a James Perse V-Neck tee, Chan Luu's English Rose scarf, and a beaded Claudia necklace. We all agree that this look is BOHO CHIC and SUPER CUTE, the perfect traveller's ensemble!!!

Have fun in Vegas Mabel!!! We'll see you back at the store shortly ;)

Vince

OMG, I was just saying the other day that the one thing I "needed" to complete my wardrobe this season was a Heather Grey t-shirt...the higher ups over at Vince must've heard me, because look what came traipsing through our doors yesterday?!?

Vince's "Linen Shirt-Tail Tee" in Light Heather Grey...BEST. TEE. EVER. With it's simple crewneck front and rear pleated detail, this top will be a great alternative to your classic white tee. While fabulous on it's own, I plan on wearing mine under a textured jacket with a sparkly necklace, or two, or three!!! Soooooooo excited, who says I'm not practical?!?

What's Mabel Wearing???

It's Christmas Eve and Mabel is heading to her boyfriend's parent's house for dinner. She's excited, but also a little afraid as this is her first time meeting them. Her goals for the evening are to make a good impression, BUT also to look super cute! Her outfit of choice in accomplishing these goals consists of Free People's "Floral Lace" dress in Burgundy, Chan Luu's "Griffin" scarf, and a necklace by Charlene K. We definitely think this is a winning look and will for sure help her win over the hearts of her boyfriend's parents.

Paige's Pick: New Year's Eve Edition

I know some of you probably read the title of this blog post and thought to yourselves, "I haven't even thought that far in advance let alone, what I'll be wearing!" Well, if you ladies who thought this are anything like me, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Halloween, New Year's, and ALL the other holidays throughout the year creep up and surprise me out of nowhere, every single time. Although it may seem premature, I've put together some outfits that can be of guidance to you if you end up in an outfit bind on New Year's Eve at 8pm, not knowing what in the world to wear! The following three outfits were chosen for different New Year's Eve celebrations. Have a look below and see if you have your outfit picked out by the end of this post!

This first outfit is for those of you who would rather spend the evening at home eating delicious snacks and watching movies than out painting the town red!  I kept this outfit extremely casual, but not sooooo much that you'd be embarrassed answering the door! I chose the new Splendid "Vintage Whisper U-Neck" tee and Velvet's "Bambi" pants in Navy. To complete this simple ensemble, I've added the perfect shoe, the Ugg "Coquette" slippers in Grey. This is the comfiest outfit that you could possibly find; however, if  you decided to accessorize it, I'd throw on some pink stained lip gloss...you never know who could burst through your front door at the stroke of midnight!

This second outfit is for an evening at a friend's house. The outfit I put together is funky and super cool; I love the combination of Vince's silky "Dolman" top in Lime with something as feminine as 7FAM's "Skinny" jeans in Gold Brocade. For accessories, I used the Ash "Dune" booties in Black and Rebecca Minkoff's "Mini Mac" in Grey. To bring the whole look together, I chose a vintage inspired Claudia necklace. This outfit is a sure winner if you're looking for something easy and bold  that you'll be sure to wear again! Don't hesitate on loading up on the bracelets as well, remember...more is more!

This final outfit is for those of you who have formal plans and are going to be out on the town. I used Joie's "Maribeth" dress in Caviar and Taupe, and accessorized the look with a Catherine Popesco crystal necklace. Both the dress and necklace are stunning pieces that speak for themselves. For shoes, I chose Ash's "Dune" booties in Black, a basic pump in either black or nude would also look great with this dress. This classic look holds so much potential for you to personalize your look and show off your own style.

Hope this makes getting dressed for NYE a little easier...

Kiki's Current Obsession...

Style and comfort are two things that should ALWAYS go together! I've learned to never sacrifice one for the other, especially when it comes to shoes!!! Never let yourself fall victim to wearing slippers or Crocs in public, no matter how "comfy" it is; however, it goes the other way too,  sometimes we let comfort take a backseat to looks when it comes to the latest styles. How many of us have suffered through the pain of super uncomfortable heels, only because they were THE perfect shoe, and you HAD to have them? I'm no stranger to wearing beautiful shoes, all while gritting my teeth, faking a smile, and desperately searching for the nearest seat.

But, I've come to learn NO shoe is worth the painful struggle, no matter how fabulous they are. That was a sad, sad realization...until Yosi Samra came around! I call them the "Saviour Shoes!" Their ballet flats feel like you're walking around barefoot, yet they're more than durable for a night out. You can fold them up in your bag for when those gorgeous heels are becoming more traumatizing than trendy, and the best part, each pair is super trendy and unique. It was hard to choose a favourite, but right now, I am absolutely loving studs (especially on shoes and accessories) and I am a long time glitter fanatic, so I chose the "Black Glitter Cap Toe Stud Fold-Up Flat." The studs are so cool and add a hint of edge to any outfit.

Whether you start your night out in a pair of these, or fold them up in your bag to save yourself from those beautiful, yet pinching heels, you'll quickly come to see why I call these "Saviour Shoes" and why everyone (from me to Hollywood stars) are obsessed with them!!!

Vince Continued...

We all know Vince for great casual basics, but they also do fabulous dressier items as well. Worn together these pieces are a great modern take on the classic suit, BUT they can easily be worn separately for a more casual look. However you decide to wear these, you'll definitely be turning heads!!!

Searching for a little "pick me up" during this stressful time of year? Well, you're in luck, we just received some beautiful and bright sweaters from Vince. The winter blues just seem to melt away when you slip one of these cozy numbers on. My favorite of this grouping is the "Oversized Boat Neck Sweater" in Bluebell (crazy about the color). This is the perfect go to grab, just pair with skinnies and your fave Chan Luu scarf.

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel's been super busy with Christmas shopping since she got home from her pre-holiday getaway! Since it's been so hectic, shes decided to keep her outfit simple and easy today; she's rocking a very cool yet casual look. She has on Charlotte Tarantola's "Leather Metallic" shirt and Doma's "Washed Lamb" leather jacket in Black. For accessories, Mabel is wearing a mixture of Chan Luu and House of Harlow necklaces. This look is perfect for running around town doing errands, for lunch dates with girlfriends, or whatever everyday chore the day has in store for you. The outfit is made up of great pieces that can be worn either dressed up or dressed down, separately or together. Mabel is looking fresh and put together...the perfect combination we all strive for everyday, especially when we're on the run!!!

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel's NEW boyfriend has finished all his Christmas shopping for her already, and has let her open one of her presents early. The gift was a round trip plane ticket to MEXICO!!! She cannot wait to go, but has realized that her summer wardrobe is in desperate need of a tune up. As the ticket is booked for a December 16th departure, Mabel is frantically trying to get some new and exciting clothes. She very quickly and eagerly dipped into our Resort collections today, and picked herself out Joie's gorgeous new "Aruna Top" in Cherry. She also grabbed a pair of Free People's "Scalloped Shorts" in Ivory, and a cropped suede Doma jacket. To top the outfit off, Mabel also chose some necklaces by Claudia Accessories; we can definitely see her shopping the streets of Playa Del Carmen, or exploring the Mayan ruins in this number!

Mabel is feeling much more confident in her summer wardrobe now; we can only hope she has a safe and enjoyable trip with her boyfriend!!!

More Joie Resort

As mentioned earlier, this shipment of Joie was JAM PACKED with goodies, and we couldn't just show you 4 tops when there were 2 more stunners, guaranteed to brighten your day! We are crazy for the flowy fits and neon shades; these tops definitely have a tropical vacation vibe to them!!!

"Marlo" in Lemon and "Edaline" in Porcelain
I am loving the "Marlo" top in Lemon! It's a casual take on a button-up shirt, one that's flowier and easier to wear. The colour is SO vibrant; I love it! It reminds me of sunshine...which we are definitely lacking during these blah winter months.

Joie Resort

Joie Resort is here to cure those winter blues! We're loving ALL the fun prints and neon ...who couldn't use a bright pop of colour in this perpetual snowfall??? The collection is perfect for all you lucky holiday jet setters, and a much needed pick -me -up for everyone stuck at home. Here are just a few (yes, there are LOTS more), of the new arrivals:

Clockwise from top left: "Cedric" in Dark Navy, "Palla" in Cherry/New Moon/Caviar, "Aruna" in Cherry, and "Geralyn" in Peacoat.

If you think it'll be difficult to pick your favourite amongst these, just wait until you see what else we have...

Paige's Pick: Business Attire

Being a procrastinator is hard! Tomorrow I have a presentation for one of my business classes, and I'm prepared in all aspects, or at least I thought I was until the realization kicked in...I don't know what to wear!!! I headed straight for my closet and found myself looking for black pants and a white button down shirt, the quintessential "business" look. I stopped. Why was I looking for something so predictable???  I decided it was time to get that notion out of my head, and hopefully yours as well by the end of this blog; business isn't necessarily always black and white suits! This week's pick is all about dressing business appropriate, being able to incorporate said pieces into your everyday wardrobe, and finally, having fun dressing up while keeping it professional! YU will help you through your battles with your closet; all that's left to do is rock the presentation!

I put together the classic woman's suit, but with a twist that all of you should be willing and able to incorporate into your business closet: color! I started off with Joie's "Entenza" top in Porcelain, and paired it with Vince's "Side Strapping" dress pants in Black. For a punch of color I added the Rebecca Taylor "3 Ply Becky" blazer in one of this season's most popular shades, Royal Blue. This refreshingly classic business look is accessorized by two Jocelyn Kennedy necklaces. To top it off, add a watch and a great pair of pumps. If you're nervous about your presentation, and all of a sudden find the air-conditioned room you're in weirdly warm, no need to panic, the "Entenza" top is a t-shirt style, so taking your blazer off will NOT be an issue. This outfit includes some of the best investment pieces: a basic silk tee, black dress pants (which are extremely flattering), and finally a blazer that can act both as a casual or a business blazer.

This second outfit is for the average winter work day. I started off with Autumn Cashmere's "French Lace" sweater in Sandbox, and added Vince's "Side Strapping" dress pants in Black. Although not shown, ideally I would pair this outfit with an arm party of assorted bracelets, along with a simple pair of stud earrings. This outfit will keep you warm and looking sophisticated; I love the lace detail on this sweater!!! GORGEOUS.

This next outfit is for those of you who are daring and want to take risks. Before you dismiss this, and skip to the next blog post, I promise this outfit isn't too wacky! I chose the Rebecca Taylor "Snake Print" blouse in Buff, along with the same Vince "Side Strapping" dress pants that were used in the other outfits. Because this top is funky, I kept the jewellery minimal, and just used a Chan Luu Botswana Agate necklace. My suggestion would be to add a watch to this outfit too, but if you were to wear this outfit out for an evening with jeans, there are endless possibilities for the arm parties to be had, and necklaces to be added!

Since we're talking business here, in all the outfits I included the Rebecca Minkoff "Mac Daddy" bag in either Black or Chocolate; this is the perfect purse and briefcase combo! Oh, did I mention it can also hold your Ipad too? Genius!

A first impression never looked so easy!!!

More Goodies From Charlotte

Charlotte Tarantola deliveries are always eagerly anticipated here at the store. It may be her clever use of fabrics, textures, and prints that have us wanting more and more...the following are some of our current faves:

"Leather Mix Tank" in Metallic and "Multi-Coloured Cardigan" in Whisper

"Lace With Sweater Trim Pullover" in Cream

I adore the "Lace With Sweater Trim Pullover." It isn't your typical "sweatshirt," that's for sure! Pair it with a tank, light-washed denim, booties, and a Chan Luu scarf for a perfectly casual outfit, OR if you're in the mood for something a little more risque, throw this top on over a sequin bra, leather pants, and sky high platforms...however you decide to wear it, it's a definite keeper!!!

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel's relationship status has recently changed from SINGLE to DATING!!! YUP, you guessed it, she's now dating the guy she was crushing on; that didn't take long, did it? Obviously, the date went well!!!

Although progressing rather rapidly, their relationship is off to a very good start! They've been seeing each other daily, and we've all noticed a BIG change in Mabel's mood. She's never been so happy :)

That being said, her "boyfriend" has recently told her their relationship will have to be put on hold for a week or so as he studies for his upcoming finals. This bit of news hasn't upset Mabel at all; instead, she's decided to sport a preppy look this week to cheer him on. She's wearing Lamb's "Mixed Media" blazer and a Lauren Moshi panther "Frankie" tee. For accessories, Mabel has layered on not only a Chan Luu scarf, but loads of crystal and stone necklaces by Jocelyn Kennedy.

Hopefully, she WON'T be tooooo much of a distraction...

OMG, we're all DYING over Rebecca Taylor's Resort 2013 delivery...sooooooooo gorgeous!!! Every single piece is absolutely "to die" for; how's a girl expected to choose?!? Here's a veerrrry small sampling of the goodies received:

"Burnout Halter Top" in Charcoal

"Misty Garden Blouse" in Coral/Grey

"Neon Tweed Jacket" in Poral

The "Misty Garden Blouse" and "Neon Tweed Jacket" are my personal faves, and absolute must haves!!! I LOVE the bohemian vibe of the top; wouldn't it be amazing paired with dark skinnies, chocolate brown riding boots, a Chan Luu scarf, and tons and tons of wooden jewellery?!?
For spring, I envision the blouse worn with the tweed jacket, cut off denim shorts, and booties...amazing, right?!?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pieces!!!
