Their fall collection does not disappoint; they're so many cute cardigans... PJ Salvage

A staple at Yu is PJ Salvage. Their pajamas are super cute, comfy, and cozy!! I absolutely LOVE the prints; they are so much fun! Honestly, you will wish you still had slumber parties to showcase your new PJs. We just received a new shipment: "Sheep to Sheep" and "Peace Out" (as pictured above). The names are just too cute to pass up! Both prints come in a nightie and a two-piece set.

New Juicy Flats

I wear ballet flats ALL the time: to work, to school, and running errands around the city. My favorite ones have to be the Juicy Couture ballet flats...they are super cute, and best of all super comfortable! We just received 3 new styles: the "Robyn", the "Abbott", and the "Racine". I love the "Robyn"; my favourite part about them is the color...they're olive! Olive footwear is a huge trend for fall ,and will look great with all your cargo pants! The "Abbott" flat is seriously a deadringer for the Miu Miu ballet flats, but about 1/3 of the price! They have a bit more structure, so if you have problems wearing flats, this might be a better alternative for you. The "Racine" are super cute, and I love love love the studs, they make the flats look less cute and more edgy! Drop by and try on a pair, you will have trouble deciding which ones you like best!!!

New Vince Sweaters!

There is something about Vince sweaters that make them sooooo irresistible; we have sold out of our two previous shipments of Vince sweaters, and I think the same will happen to these two. The great thing about Vince is the styles are so classic, you could seriously wear these sweaters everyday, and they will never tire. I love the two new styles we received: the "Blanket Sweater" (left) and the "Merino Wool Sweater" (right), they are both so cozy and chic looking! Honestly, Vince makes a bulky sweater look fashionable!

Free People

We just received a HUGE shipment of Free People...according to Diane, "there are 49 units worth of stuff!" There are so many cute styles that would be perfect for fall. Here is just a tidbit: the first sweater, "Princess Belle," in black, is a perfect fall sweater; the "O-La-La Lace Top" is so cute and girlie...Mabel is wearing it in Cream this week. We also received this top in Almost Black (as pictured). The "Cord Victorian Riding Jacket" is the perfect mix of romantic and military! I love combining two trends into one piece of clothing! Drop by and take a look at all 49 items!

What's Mabel Wearing????

This week Mabel is getting ready for Fall in her Cognac Mackage "Nella" Leather Jacket. I love this colour; it is a huge trend for fall, and is an unexpected neutral. It works with cream and brown, but surprisingly looks great with black and grey as well. Underneath the jacket, Mabel has on a Free People Lace Shirt that we just received. This top is ultra girlie, and a great layering piece for the Fall! For jewels, Mabel is wearing a Jocelyn Kennedy burnt horn necklace layered with a Chan Luu charm piece. On top of these jewels, she has on a Chan Luu scarf in Sand Dollar...I absolutely love these scarves!!! They are perfect to throw on when it gets a little chilly outside! Mabel is combining bohemian, girlie, and rocker to make a look of her own!

Odd Molly

Attention all Odd Molly Fans!! We have just received a new grouping of Odd Molly for Fall, and I couldn't be more ecstatic! Odd Molly is known for their quirky styles...I love the bohemian feeling of their clothing. I love the silk dress (pictured above); the color, and beading on it is absolutely stunning! The sleeves are totally MAJOR, they are an exagerrated bell-sleeve, so dramatic and fabulous!!! I would add a faux fur vest and tights for a glamorous bohemian look!

The silk blouse is slightly cropped, so if you are not comfortable with the length, you can simply add a tank top underneath, or layer a long-sleeve tee underneath when the weather gets cooler. I think this top would be super cute paired with a black leather jacket, and grey Chan Luu scarf. This top is just too cute!!!

The other top we received is a burnout tee with a twist; it is a floral burnout with ruffle sleeves. This top is great alternative to a basic tee...perfect worn underneath a boyfriend blazer!!! The burnout effect of the tee gives it a super soft feel...definitely hard to resist.

Splendid Wraps!

Wraps are great throw-ons on a summer night if you get chilly. They are also a great transition piece from summer to fall, when it is not cold enough to wear a heavy sweater. The Splendid Wraps never seem to dissappoint; they are soft, versatile, and the perfect weight for a wrap. We just received a replenishment of the Splendid Lightweight Wrap in Black and Oatmeal (pictured above). A new addition is the 1X1 Cardigan (centre) in Navy and Black. If you need a wrap, swing by and take a look!

Something Else

This is the debut of "Something Else" on the blog! Something Else is a brand from Austrailia that uses prints and color in a fashion-forward way. Many of the pieces have digital printing, a technique seen on the runways at Alexander McQueen and Gucci. The digital print is both modern and cutting-edge! I personally love the Peace Tank; I think it would look great with skinny jeans and a cardigan. My favourite tank is the Gold Lace Tank, it almost looks like brocade... brocade was another huge trend seenall over the fall runways at Balmain and Dolce & Gabbana. This tank is a perfect way to incorporate a fall trend into your wardrobe; I would pair this tank with a chunky sweater and boots. We received a bunch of different styles and lots of prints, so drop by and take a look!

Mackage!!!

Our Mackage jackets and coats have arrived, so Fall is officially here (whether we like it or not)!!! There are a variety of leather jackets and coats to choose from.  Mackage is a great Canadian line based out of Montreal, so we know their coats are warm enough for the coldest winter days!!! Their coats are made from the finest wool and leathers...they seriously last the test of time, and the styles are both edgy and timeless.
I love the Virginia Leather Jacket in Coco, which is a deep, chocolate brown. This color is a great alternative to black, as it is warmer and less harsh. Chocolate brown is a great way to go if you think the motorcycle style is a bit edgy...the brown softens this look.
The Lina Jacket is absolutely genius! It is literally a 3-in-1 jacket (as pictured above). I love how multi-functional the jacket is. It would be absolutely perfect for an unpredictable fall day in Edmonton;  if it starts off cool, you can wear the whole jacket, slowly removing the layers as the weather changes...looking chic the whole time!!

There are a couple more styles in store, with more to come! Swing by and try one on as sizes are limited!

Line Sweaters For Fall!!

Line sweaters have finally arrived! These sweaters are seriously comfy, and once you try one on, you will want the cold weather to come just so you can start wearing them! For those of you who are sensitive to wool, you're in luck, these sweaters are made from cotton which makes them super soft, and not itchy.

The Sweater Coat in black/charcoal is sooo cozy (top left). Once you put it on you won't want to take it off. Leave the coat open for a more casual look, or belt it to create a more sophisticated shape. Honestly this sweater is so easy to wear; it will become your go-to piece on a cold fall day. The Open Cardi (top right) comes in indigo and taupe and the large knit fabric makes this sweater feel extra cozy. Finally, the Open Ribbed Cardigan which comes in taupe and indigo (which is already sold out!) is more structured than the former two sweaters. This sweater would look fantastic with a pair of knee high boots!

All three of these sweaters are great options for fall, and can easily be incorporated into anyone's existing wardrobe. Come in soon, you don't want to miss out.

What's Mabel Wearing?

Fall seems to be in the air (unfortunately), so this week Mabel is staying warm and cozy in a open knit cardigan from Line in "Indigo". Underneath is a leopard print tank in "Silverfox" from Joie, which adds a little glamour to Mabel's ensemble. Mabel is also wearing a wooden bead necklace by Jocelyn Kennedy and the Karyn Chopik Heart Locket necklace. I love how these two necklaces look together, and they make Mabel's outfit look more casual, with a cool bohemian vibe. If Mabel had legs, she would definitely be wearing a pair of slouchy cowboy boots. A Chan Luu Scarf in "Griffin" finishes off Mabel's fall look.

Sir Alistair Rai on the Big Screen!

Sir Alistar Rai scarves have been popping up everywhere, and everyone from Drew Berrymore to Hilary Duff have been seen with these fun, colourful scarves. Sir Alistair Rai is definitely "in the spot light" especially with the release of Julia Roberts new film "Eat, Pray, Love," where she rocks one of these fab scarves in multiple different scenes. The release of this new movie is creating a lot of buzz around these hand-died scarves, so come in and take a look before they are gone!

Everyone's favourite silk/cashmere scarves have arrived in new fabulous colors! I'm loving the neutral colors, which are big for fall, and the bright, bold colors will add a great punch of color to any fall outfit. Once you try one of these scarves there is no going back, you will be hooked for life!

Doma Detachable Hood Motorcycle Jacket

We have received another great leather jacket from Doma; this time, it is a motorcycle jacket with a detachable hood. I love this jacket! Once you put it on, you will instantly feel 100 times cooler! I also think the black is the perfect color for this motorcycle jacket; it is definitely an edgy piece! It gives you a great shape, and is very flattering for a fuller chest. I LOVE the way Nicky Hilton is wearing this jacket...I would wear this outfit everyday to work, or school in the fall! It's a great everyday piece with some edge!

P.S. Rhonda, I heard that you were thinking about the Doma jackets, I think this one would look perfect with your motorcycle boots, and will be super flattering for your figure!

Rich & Skinny Wedge Bootcut

We just received the new Wedge Bootcut jean by Rich & Skinny. This is a great basic denim; it is a darker wash with little distressing...the perfect "dress up" jean! I love the slim bootcut.  It's a great mid-width, narrower than a bootcut, but wider than a skinny. They will pretty much work for everyone!

Doma Detachable Hood Bomber Jacket

We are slowly starting to receive our leather jackets, and I couldn't be more excited... I am probably the only person happy with the cold weather, so I can start wearing my new fall clothes! The Doma Detachable Hood Bomber Jacket would be the perfect thing to wear today, with a pair of jeans and boots. I absolutely love the way Cheryl Cole is wearing this jacket (pictured above); I think it is the perfect rocker look. We received this jacket in Mink, which is a taupe color, and I have to admit, I like even better than the black. The color is a great departure from your basic black leather jacket. I am loving the detachable hood...I love the hip casual feel the hood lends to the jacket. Stop by and check it out!!

Funktional

Funkctional has created some really great sweaters for fall. I really love how this line doesn't just do the "traditional" fall sweater. There is always something unexpected: the Cold Shoulder Sweater, in Navy, has a cutout opening at the shoulder, which adds just a touch of sex appeal; the Silk Pocket Sweat Shirt in Pale Grey, is cropped which makes it a great layering piece. Wear it over any tank, and add a pair of knee high boots for a cool preppy look. The Leather Panel Jacket is Funktional's take on the "traditional" wrap sweater. The leather paneling gives the piece a "rock chick" vibe and would go fabulously with a pair of motor cycle boots. Come in and take a look!

Rachel Pally Max Top

We just receive the Rachel Pally Max Top! I love this top, to be honest I am wearing it as I am typing this blog. I have it on with black leggings and a leather vest, and I could not be more comfortable! We, here at Yu, have been fans of Rachel Pally for a while, as her clothing is comfortable and fashionable... what more could you ask for? I am obsessed with her fabric, it is so soft and comfy! Seriously, once you try her stuff on, you will be in love with the fabric, and wishing all your clothes were Rachel Pally! The Max top is one of those pieces that you could see yourself wearing everyday; it's perfect with leggings, jeans, and cargos! Stop by and try it on, we received it in the Black and Raisin, it will not disappoint!

What's Mabel Wearing????

This week Mabel is showcasing how simple it is to transition your summer wardrobe into fall.

For Mabel's summer look, I started with a Graham & Spencer black racerback dress and layered it with a Jocelyn Kennedy wood necklace, a Karyn Chopik leaf necklace, and a Chan Luu charm necklace. I think wood jewellery is great for summer as it adds a bohemian vibe to an outfit! This is the perfect summer dress as it is easy to throw on and go, but it is also very versatile and will transition easily into fall.

For Mabel's fall look, I simply added a Velvet cashmere sweater, and a Tolani leopard scarf. This Velvet sweater would be perfect for any fall day. I also thought that the leopard scarf spiced up the outfit, and leopard is huge for fall. I think the scarf is an easy way to incorporate the trend into your fall wardrobe. For this outfit, I would also add tights and boots to make Mabel's outfit more fall appropriate.

What's Mabel Wearing????

This week Mabel is taking a glamorous approach to the Safari theme! I love this Madison Marcus top, it feels like animal print, without being a blatant print. And the sequin detailing on the shoulder is fabulous, and plays on the bold shoulder trend!
We added the Claudia multilayer necklace, Jocelyn Kennedy wood necklace, and the silver medallion to complete the Urban Safari look.

Shoshanna Dress

Shoshanna makes some great dresses, and these two definitely demonstrate that. Both of these dresses are great LBDs, that are super versatile! The "Twisted Front T-Shirt Dress" is extremely flattering, and I love that it is different than the typical black dress; it literally has a twist to it!!! The "Fitted Shirtdress" is a great summer to fall transitional piece; it is fitted on top and more fuller on the bottom, which gives a nice hourglass shape. It also looks great belted!

Stop by and try them on!
