Flower Power Cont'd...

Mystery model taking Joie's "Shara" top in Washed Raspberry out for a spin...

Guess who???

Flower Power

Sooooo, these went fast!!! We literally sold these out of the box!!! No worries though for those of you still interested, we will be receiving another delivery shortly...yay!!!

How fabulous are these 7FAM skinnies in Garden Party??? I know you've probably been seeing floral denim all over the place:  in stores, magazines, and on your favourite celebrities, BUT I guarantee you haven't seen these yet (at least not in person). They're bold yes, but so ridiculously cool! I love the look of them with a white t-shirt, denim jacket, and cool booties for a funky day look, but how amazing would they look with a black silky, leather jacket, and sky high platforms for an evening out?!? So sexy! These are an absolute wardrobe "MUST."

*If you think you may be interested in these, give us a call.

Paige's Pick

Summertime! Oh...wait...there's still a lot of snow, but it's always nice to plan ahead which is why this week's pick is for all of us who love to embrace long summer days, and wear shorts at every opportunity possible. I put together two outfits: one casual outfit perfect for daytime activities, and the other slightly dressier for summer evenings out on a patio.

This season's hottest trend color...bright, bold colors especially in pants, but who's to say that you can't do the same with shirts and accessories? The outfit above is the more casual look; I put this together using the Central Park West "Greenbrier" top, with 7FAM's "Roll Up" shorts, and "2 Tone" Samra flats. To accessorize this outfit, I added a Chan Luu gray wrap bracelet, an Avant Garde crystal ring, and Hobo "Belinda" clutch in Fuschia. You can finish off this look with a denim jacket; denim on denim is always a good thing! Take some risks, and stand out this season with bright and crisp colors!

The outfit above is for a dressier evening out on the patio. This look is just one example of how you can dress up a pair of shorts, and feel good about wearing them out for an evening. I used the same Central Park West "Greenbrier" top, but changed everything else. This time I paired the top with "Zandra Dress Shorts" by Joie, Ash "Dune" black booties, and a Linea Pelle over sized "Dylan Zip" clutch in Amethyst. The jewelry I used makes this outfit that much more chic; I added a Catherine Popesco crystal necklace and Chan Luu purple jade ring together to bring out that much more color and sophistication. Worried about those cool summer breezes at night? No problem...add a cropped blazer and you're good to go!

So go ahead, show off your tanned legs!

New Maison Scotch...Lovely!!!

S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G!!! I absolutely adore the "Sequined Wrap Skirt" in Olive by Maison Scotch. I love that although this skirt is fully sequined, it is done on durable cotton making it easy to wear casually as well as dressy.

WOW, WOW, WOW, this is a "must-have!!!"

Lennon White Stag Sweater in Hazy Blue

Great news for all you Wildfox fans, we just received a delivery from them, and in this grouping is a Wildfox White Label sweater: the "Lennon White Stag" in Hazy Blue. We've been getting non stop phone calls about this particular piece, so if you're even the slightest bit curious, come on in before they're all gone!

Desert Crew Vixen Tee in Clean White

Also included in this shipment is the "Desert Crew Vixen" tee in Clean White...I love the look of this shirt styled with the leather shorts and military jacket!!!

Gorgeous...there is no other word to describe this sheer perfection of a top by Vince. Their "Cap Sleeve Silk Tee" in Nude brings together silky chiffon in the prettiest of blush shades and delicate pleating in both the front and back. This ethereal top paired with light denim shorts, gladiator sandals, and an over sized floppy hat makes for the perfect "Yes, I know I'm gorgeous" summer outfit, and we can ALL use one of those!!! Haha!

Jerd's Corner: Maxi Dresses

Last time I blogged about Maxi Skirts, now let's move up to Maxi Dresses, the ultimate summer staple. The Maxi Dress can be worn multiple ways from dressy to casual, from minimally chic to bohemian cool. I love this look for summer, and have decided to put together three looks to inspire.

1. Minimal: The second I saw the Splendid "Tee Maxi Dress," I instantly thought of the queen of minimalism Jil Sander; this dress is a dead-ringer for her spring maxis. Maxi dresses are not usually thought of as being minimalistic as we usually equate them with bohemian style; however, this particular dress is an exception! Pair this with simple sandals and bright lipstick, Jil would be proud!!!

2. Bohemian: There is no better time to do Bohemian than in the summer: throw on a printed maxi, Winter Kate kimono, stack upon stack of wooden bangles, and gladiator sandals and pretend you live in LA instead of YEG...hahaha!!! The Queen of Bohemian, Ms. Richie, always pulls the bohemian look off so well...soooo inspirational!

3. Casual: Since Maxi dresses are so comfortable, they can easily be worn casually, and makes for the perfect summer "airport" outfit, or just for running around town doing errands. I love how Miranda Kerr keeps it simple in her tee-shirt Maxi dress while at the airport...tres chic!!!

So, all we need now is for this dumping of snow to melt...or a vacation, which ever comes first!

Jerd's Corner: Spring Denim

Blue Denim for spring? I don't think so...It's all about color and prints, from pastels to ikat, the crazier the better. A lot of women have been asking us: "Am I too old for this trend?", "What do I wear with my neon pink/green/blue pants?" etc. etc. Well, to answer these questions, I've put together three looks which I have rated G, 14A, and R depending on how far you want to go with this trend.

1. Rated G: This is the babiest of baby steps, that anyone can wear (no excuses). Keeping a neutral color scheme helps the girl who is afraid of wearing the printed jean. This look is the easiest to pull off, all you need to do is find a pair of neutral printed denim, and we are loving the 7 For All Mankind "Cropped Skinny" in Toffee Ikat.

Some celebrities seen wearing the Rated G look:

2. Rated 14 A: A little more risque, we are upping the color palate with pastels and neon. Here we are mixing a subtle tribal print with Neon Pink AG "Stilt" jeans. I think this is the perfect spring look that will get you noticed, but isn't overboard. For the Rated 14 A outfit, look for colored denim and pair this with a (relatively) simple top.

Here are some celebrity inspiration of the Rated 14 A look:

3. Rated R: Ok, now this one might be a stretch, but I wanted to have some fun with it. This is for the true fashionista, a definite risk taker. Start with bright pants and pair them with either a printed or boldly colored top for a look that is "off-the-runway."

Some celebrity looks that definitely turn heads:

With these guidelines in tow, we are confident that our Yu girls will be able to embrace the color/pattern trend!!!

What's Mabel Wearing???

I can't tell you who's more obsessed with emerald green this week, me or Mabel!!! (I was wearing a bright emerald blazer while dressing her, and thought that since she and I are BFFs, she should sport the same colour!!!). The inspiration for this outfit started with the L.A.M.B. shorts. I haven't yet seen anything like them in stores, but they definitely have a sporty feel to them which is a huge trend for the upcoming season. I would most likely wear these with a t-shirt and fashion runners; however, Mabel is much classier than I am (hahaha!), so I thought Joie's "Joplin" top in Spearmint would dress the shorts up a bit. To tone down the spring brights, I decided to top off this look with a suede cropped jacket from Doma and celebrity jewels by House of Harlow. I think both Gwen and Nicole would approve of Mabel's look this week, don't you???

Great new tops in from Central Park West...why can't it be summer already?!?

Greenbrier Top in Floral White and Post Ranch Top in Coral

The "Greenbrier Top" is super feminine and pretty; the perfect topper for denim shorts!!! I also really love the "Post Ranch Top" in Coral...this top would look beautiful with blush coloured denim and wooden jewellery.

The "Pine Bluff Top" (pictured above) with it's perforated back is super cool. You can either layer it over a basic tank, OR if you're adventurous, try a fabulous bra!!!

Another small but lovely delivery from L.A.M.B.:

Stripe Cargo Short in Multi

Aren't these shorts adorable??? I imagine these with a simple tank (cotton or silk) and super high wedges, although I have to admit they'd look equally fabulous with flip flops as well. I can totally see Gwen wearing these, can't you??? She'd probably throw on a pair of white rimmed sunnies and bright red lips too!!!

Pleated Maxi Circle Skirt in Navy

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this feminine and flowy! I see this with a slightly fitted tee, cropped leather jacket, and platform sandals...soooooo beautiful!

Sooooooooo in love with this top by Vince: "1/2 Placket Silk Blouse" in White!!!

1/2 Placket Silk Blouse in White

This top would be great worn as is with skinny jeans and/or shorts, but would be fantastic under a fitted leather jacket, coloured denim, and towering heels!!!

Joie! Joie! Joie!

Once again the excitement is palpable here at the store...we've received more Joie!!! Here are some of our current faves:

Shara Top received in Washed Raspberry

Boyd Eyelet Tank in Porcelain

Masha Top in Dark Navy

If you're lucky enough to be headed off somewhere warm this break, you MUST give Soft Joie's "Bond" dress in Washed Raspberry/Light Fog a try. It will be the perfect travel companion...throw it on over leggings and flip flops for an ultra casual look, or belted with fabulous wedges, and great jewellery for a dressier alternative. We love ourselves a good Ikat print!!!

Paige's Pick

I know I just did a pick, but we have received so much lately that I just had to do another blog! This week's pick is the 7FAM "Cropped Skinny" in Golden Wheat. These pants are super versatile...easy to dress up and/or down. I chose two outfits: one dressy, the other casual...both EQUALLY stylish and comfortable. This week's theme is the color nude. Nude is so on trend right now, easy to pair with other colors, and can be worn by anyone. If you feel your skin tone is not quite the right color, wear these pants with a brightly colored top. This will allow you to wear nudes without feeling washed out!

The first outfit I chose consists of Graham and Spencer's "Savanna Sunrise" tank, paired with bronze Samra Ballet Flats, and 7FAM's  cropped skinnies. Finishing off the look is a short Claudia necklace. If you need a change, try switching up the necklace for big earrings and/or bracelets.

The second look is more casual and comfy. I paired the 7FAM jeans with Vince's "Shirt Tail" shirt. I added Ugg flip flops and a Karyn Chopik necklace. Pairing a Chan Luu bracelet with this outfit would finish the look off nicely.

Dare yourself and go nude!
