Maison Scotch Continued...

So, you all know we received a gigantic shipment of Maison Scotch, but there was one particular piece that stood out to all of us here at the store. Since this piece is unlike any other we've ever had, we thought it deserved a post of it's own, and an explanation as to why we think it is so fabulous! The "Peter Pan Collar Sweater" would look awesome with black dress pants, pumps, and a pair of  wide rimmed glasses (talk about office chic!). For accessories, throw on some of your favorite bangles, and if you're a true fashionista, try adding a pearl necklace to the ensemble. I know this look isn't for everyone, and may be too fashion forward for some, but Maison Scotch has you covered as well; the collar and cuffs on this grey sweater are removable, leaving you with a comfy, fall through winter friendly sweater.

So, before you "judge a book by its cover," try something new, you may just end up pleasantly surprised!

Maison Scotch

We just received a brand new shipment of Maison Scotch's latest fall pieces. All I can say is although we're all dreading the end of summer, it's actually easier to get excited about the upcoming season after seeing what we've just got in! Have a look below at some of the pieces:

"Drapey Velvet Blazer" in North Sea and "2 in 1 Sweater" in Charcoal/Black

"2 in 1 Top" in Grey and "Double Breasted Blazer" in Taupe/Black

Come in soon to see the rest!

Graham and Spencer

We just received Graham and Spencer's "Wool Blend Turtle" in Charcoal. The blends of nylon and wool make this sweater one of the comfiest ones you'll have. Aside from how cozy it is, let's not forget to point out the obvious, how cute is the cowl neck? Throw this sweater on during a cooler fall day with skinny jeans and brown boots; simple, comfy, fashionable, what more could you ask for???

Alright ladies, we just received the Velvet "Fair Isle Overpiece" sweater in blues and whites, and let me tell you this is ONE piece that you will absolutely, no questions asked, want to have in your wardrobe this fall. This great blend of cotton, silk, and lamb's wool make this one of the coziest ones we've received so far this season. Throw this on with a pair of jeans or leggings, and ballet flats, and I can guarantee the last thing on your mind will be "I can't wait to get out of this outfit!"

LOVE Heartloom!!!

We just received an unbelievable grouping of Heartloom!!! Here's a sneak peek at some of the goodies:

Sooooo loving everything, it's difficult to decide which pieces to get. The "Lara Vest" in Natural is FOR SURE a must!!! Can't want to debut this beauty with a fitted tee, dark skinnies, and chocolate over the knee boots...ultra GLAMOROUS! Our girl Rach will be impressed!

Rebecca Taylor

Just in from Rebecca Taylor is the "Dalmatian Dot 101 Tee" in Coal Combo. This sleeveless, chiffon blouse with sateen trim straddles the line between refinement and whimsy. Wear it alone or under a great structured blazer for a more polished look.

Rebecca Taylor, she sure knows how to make them!

Tired of the same old ripped up, worn out, comfy sweat pants that you wear at home, and well, let's face it for some of us, at the grocery store? YU just received the perfect replacement for your tired sweats! New from C&C are the "Ankle Legging Pants" in Black. These pants are perfect for throwing on while running errands. They easily go with all your favorite tees, are perfect for lounging around at home, and for going out for a casual evening on the town...when you add a nice wedge and silk tank, no one will believe that you've just spent the day running errands in the exact same pants!

Look of the Day: Kathy from Katwalk Shoes

Kathy from Katwalk Shoes popped into YU today, and we just couldn't help but drool over her outfit! Kathy's bright and bold combination (loving all the pink!), make this outfit the perfect one for a beautiful summer day! Kathy has on the AG "Legging Ankle" pants in Fushia, along with a basic white tee (one could sub in a white James Perse or Velvet tee to get the same look), and finally a Chan Luu Fushia/Red tie-dye scarf. To finish off this look, Kathy has on a pair of fabulous sandals from her store Katwalk Shoes. Although the sandals she's wearing are no longer in stock, Katwalk is hosting a seasonal sale at the store; be sure to pop by and browse all the fabulous shoes!

More AGs

Just finished trying on all the new AGs, love them all (no surprise there), but the "Stilt" in Smitten is my personal favourite. I love everything about them: the cut, wash, stretch, and colour. These will, without a doubt, be my "go to" pair this season.

Stilt in Smitten

*For those of you who prefer a firmer stretch to your jeans, these will be perfect. They have just enough give to be comfortable, but are still stiff enough to "hold" you these!

*Also received in this delivery are the "Premiere" in 3 Years and "Legging" in Veranda.

AGs For Fall

Sooo loving the "Stilt" in Red Rock from AG!!! These terracotta coloured skinnies are the perfect pair of transitional pants heading into the cooler months. Not only will they look great with a basic white tee, but will be an ideal compliment to all the greys, camels, and browns that are sure to come out later this season.

Stilt in Red Rock

Wouldn't these be fabulous tucked into a pair of chocolate riding boots with a chunky, off the shoulder sweater? Getting more and more excited for fall, can hardly wait!

More From Joie

We received such a lovely grouping of Joie pieces that it makes it difficult to choose which ones to blog about. Since we couldn't possibly blog on everything, here are a few of our favourites:

Osa Top in Porcelain

Willy Top in Mercury

Marlo Top in China Blue

In addition to the "Cina Lace Tank," I am also loving the "Sayla" pant from Joie. These viscose/silk  pants feature an elastic waist with drawstring closure, two front side slant pockets, front pleats, and single pocket detailing in the back. Wear these both casually and dressy; they'd be perfect with a basic tee and flip flops for running around, or with a silky off the shoulder blouse and sky-high platforms for an evening's that for versatility?

Sayla Pants in Caviar

Seriously, this love affair I've been having with lace is getting a little bit out of control...will it never end?!? Not if Joie has it's way, that's for sure! The "Cina Lace Tank" is their latest interpretation of this trend, and MY current obsession...soooo gorgeous! With it's bra friendly straps and moderate neckline, this tank is easily worn on it's own, but I love mine under both "Fanny" and "Elvia" tops...this is the thing with obsessions, once you've become as deeply entrenched in it as I've been, you can mix and match your tops, creating all sorts of fun combinations (truly the justification of a lace "sicko"...LOL!!!).
No regrets, not a single one.

*Lola, Bonnie, Debbi, yours are safely tucked away!!!

Lauren Moshi

Sweater lovers, have I got THE perfect sweater for you! Just in from Lauren Moshi is the "Peace Daisy" sweater, and let me tell you, it is one sweater that you can't go wrong with. Whether you pair this sweater with jeans, shorts, or your work out wear, you're guaranteed to be comfortable and fashionable all at once! The print on the sweater makes it easy to throw an outfit together in no time. I should probably stop bragging about how practical and awesome this sweater is, and let you find out for yourself, but seriously, can it get any better?!?

Comfort and style never fit together better!

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel has the rainy day blues today, so to make herself feel better, she's decided to go for a casual dinner and movie after work. She's wearing the Ella Moss "Mohawk Fringed Poncho" in Natural and a basic James Perse tank underneath. She paired this comfy poncho with 7FAM "Roll-Up Shorts" in Baywater. To complete this look, Mabel threw on a few Britta ad Chan Luu necklaces, as well as a  Rebecca Minkoff`"Mini Mac" bag in Teal. Her casual, boho look will definitely be a hit for a relaxed evening out!

Paige's Pick: Transition (With Colour) From Summer to Fall

This week's pick is not a specific item that I have chosen to display, (a little sad since all the pieces I've decided to use this week are awesome!), but more of a fashion trend that is going to carry through the next few seasons: colored denim. My three outfits this week are to show you how to transition your summer colored pants into the fall season. Have a look below:

For this first look, I chose the 7FAM "Skinny" jeans in Port. This pair of denim we just received a few days ago, and they are the most perfect shade of red, one that's deep and rich enough to wear through the fall and winter; however, let's not jump too far ahead, the outfit above is strictly for those cooler days at the end of summer as we ready ourselves for the upcoming season. I've paired the 7's with Lauren Moshi's "Wylie Raglan" top and the Rebecca Minkoff "Mini Mac" in Eggplant. For shoes, I chose basic Samra ballet flats in Black with a hint of shiny lace detail. This look could be accessorized with Chan Luu wrap bracelets, and large cocktail rings from either Avant Garde or Charlene K. If you find the days too breezy for this look, throw on a leather jacket for added warmth.

For the next outfit, I chose the Vince "Crop Skinny Ankle" pants in Tomato. I liked these because they are bright and bold, yet can easily be toned down by the addition of a neutral colored top and/or scarf, which in most cases, the fall season is all about anyway. I chose to pair the Joie "Electra" top in Caviar with these bold pants, as well as a Chocolate and Eggshell paisley printed Chan Luu scarf. To finish off the look, I used Ash "Dune" booties in Black. You could accessorize this look by adding layers and layers of bracelets, as well as a bag to give this look a more polished and sophisticated feel.

This last look is the boldest of the bunch, the one that stands out the most, and has the most color. I chose the new 7FAM "Skinny" jeans in Blackberry, a deep, dark purple. I then contrasted the dark pants with a bright, colorful top from Splendid: the "Block Stripe V-neck" in Popsicle. For even more color, I chose to add a Rebecca Minkoff "Mini Mac" bag in Teal. Finally, for some neutrals, I used the Ash "Dune" booties in Black to ground the overall look. This outfit would for sure brighten up a dreary fall day!

Stay out of the fall fog and add some color to the upcoming season!!!

Catherine Popesco

We are all obsessed with Catherine Popesco earrings and necklaces, but did you know she also makes bangles?!?! These bangles are the perfect little fillers, but are also great on their own (they are definitely invited to my arm party!!!). Yet another Popesco creation to obsess over, will the temptations ever end?

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel is looking forward to sitting on her favorite neighbourhood patio this evening. Of course, she is cool and casual in a pair of 7FAM shorts and the "Star Tank" from Funktional. Jewels from Jocelyn Kennedy add a little glamour (which is always necessary). For those cooler nights, just switch out the shorts for a pair of your favorite skinnies. This outfit is a no brainer, well done Mabel!

Josefina - Skinny Boyfriend

Josefina Skinny Boyfriend in Royal

If you're a fan of the 7FAM boyfriend's, here's another great pair to add to your collection. This is the latest version of the classic "Josefina." They are longer in length, with an untacked cuff, so it can be easily rolled up or down (genius). These jeans are also super soft and comfy...definitely my new favorites. 7FAM has done it yet again!!!

Look Of The Day

One of our favourite customers paid us a little visit this afternoon. Here she is modelling some of our top picks (so far!) this season: Vince's "Ribbed Boatneck Sweater" in Black, 7FAM's "Skinny" jean in Blackberry, and Rebecca Minkoff's "Cupid" in Eggplant.

Bonnie, you've done us proud!!!

As we've mentioned earlier, both coloured AND printed denim are moving forward for the fall/holiday seasons. The following are some of 7FAM's most recent cuts using their "Slim Illusion" stretch technology:

The Skinny in Blackberry

The Skinny in Port
*"Slim Illusion" - tighter construction, intense stretch, and 50% more fabric memory

All That Glitters...

ADORABLE!!! We're all over the moon over these "Incense" heels from Melissa. These shoes feature a layered bow in the back, almond shaped toe (my favourite!), slim sole, and high chunky heel. I think these would be great worn with a dressier short, basic tank, and slim blazer. How would you wear these?

Incense Heels in Pink

Glitter Incense in Grey

Devotion Booties in Black

Just in from Melissa are these ultra fab "Devotion" booties!!! Too cool, right? Not only do these boots feature a double row of stud embellishments down the front and back, they also come in a suede finish with "hidden" velcro closure. These undoubtedly would be great paired with a skinny jean, but would be incredible with a dress and tights for the fall.

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel decided to try a fresh, boho-chic look this week. She's wearing the Wildfox "Lennon White Stag" sweater in Hazy Blue paired with Free People's "Scalloped Shorts" in Ivory. To finish off the look, Mabel opted for BOTH Jocelyn Kennedy and Chan Luu necklaces. This look is perfect for a cooler summer day with the sweater not being too heavy; throw on a pair of ankle booties to complete this look. Mabel's sure going to be turning heads in this refreshing summer outfit!

It's no surprise around here that we all LOVE Vince and their fabulous sweaters, which makes decision time difficult for some of us...not for me, not this time! Hands down my favourite of the lot is the "Ribbed Boatneck Sweater" in Black; though boxy in silhouette, I find it strikes the perfect balance to a skinnier bottom. I think it would be absolutely fabulous in the fall worn over a skinny jean, to-die-for boots, annnddd to kick it up a notch, an amazing, "couldn't live without it" necklace...What more could you ask for?!?

Long Sleeved Back Slant Tee received in White and Fig

Definitely loving this "Long Sleeved Back Slant Tee" from Wilt. Available in White and Fig, this is the perfect tee to pair with your favourite skinnies, boots, and Chan Luu scarf...Who says style AND comfort couldn't co-exist? Wasn't us, that's for sure!!!

So many fabulous sweaters, how's a girl to choose?!? Here are some of my faves, absolutely loving the rich colours!!!

*Top: "Boatneck Sweater" in Henna

Winter Kate

In addition to the "Laser Cut Leather Top" in Black, these are some of the other pieces that set our hearts aflutter...enjoy!!!

Cobalt Splatter Crepe Top in Cobalt

Blue Vein Silk Crepe Top in Blue

Grey/Red Splatter Chiffon dress in Splatter

I LOVE the "Grey/Red Splatter Chiffon" simple, yet soooooo beautiful!!! I envision it with a leather jacket and fabulous for an edge, and brown for a more bohemian vibe!

So, I feel like I haven't OMGed you in awhile, but that's about to change! O-M-G, how ridiculous is this "Laser Cut Leather Top" from Winter Kate?!? Absolutely no words to adequately describe how beautiful it is, you just have to take my word for it...STUNNING!!!

Odd Molly

Once again we are delighted with our latest Odd Molly delivery. As per usual, each piece is unique and incredibly intricate in detail. The following are among our favourite pieces:

1. "Flyhigh Sleeveless Blouse" in Almost Black

This top of sandwashed silk, embroidery, and cotton lace inserts is definitely one of a kind!!! Whether worn alone, or under a great blazer/leather jacket, it will surely get you noticed!

2. "Impulse Wrap Cardigan" in Lite Grey Melange

This pointelle knit cardigan with both rib and crochet trim is a personal favourite! I've always loved grey and brown together, so this was a no-brainer!!! Aside from it looking fabulous, it also feels like a dream...MUST-HAVE!!!

3. "Timeout Wrap Cardigan" in Chalk

This cotton and acrylic cardigan with pointelle knit, frill, and braided tassels is the perfect throw on piece...whether worn over a dress, tank, or tee, this sweater will definitely give your outfit that added pizzazz.
