Jerd's Corner: Spring Denim

Blue Denim for spring? I don't think so...It's all about color and prints, from pastels to ikat, the crazier the better. A lot of women have been asking us: "Am I too old for this trend?", "What do I wear with my neon pink/green/blue pants?" etc. etc. Well, to answer these questions, I've put together three looks which I have rated G, 14A, and R depending on how far you want to go with this trend.

1. Rated G: This is the babiest of baby steps, that anyone can wear (no excuses). Keeping a neutral color scheme helps the girl who is afraid of wearing the printed jean. This look is the easiest to pull off, all you need to do is find a pair of neutral printed denim, and we are loving the 7 For All Mankind "Cropped Skinny" in Toffee Ikat.

2. Rated 14 A: A little more risque, we are upping the color palate with pastels and neon. Here we are mixing a subtle tribal print with Neon Pink AG "Stilt" jeans. I think this is the perfect spring look that will get you noticed, but isn't overboard. For the Rated 14 A outfit, look for colored denim and pair this with a (relatively) simple top.

Here are some celebrity inspiration of the Rated 14 A look:

3. Rated R: Ok, now this one might be a stretch, but I wanted to have some fun with it. This is for the true fashionista, a definite risk taker. Start with bright pants and pair them with either a printed or boldly colored top for a look that is "off-the-runway."

Some celebrity looks that definitely turn heads:

With these guidelines in tow, we are confident that our Yu girls will be able to embrace the color/pattern trend!!!
