I have long been a fan of anything boho, so it's no surprise that I am obsessing over the shipment we just received from House of Harlow. Lace, lace, lace...how could you possibly go wrong?? Just in from Ella Moss is the "Sabrina Top" in Natural. This is the perfect t-shirt style lace top as it is light weight, feminine, and a great match for your favorite skinnies! This 100% silk top is the ultimate "go to" grab!

When all else fails, throw on your lace...a phrase some of us are just a little too familiar with!

Paige's Pick: Transitional Denim

Okay, I'm just going to say it, there's no point in beating around the bush...fall is just around the corner. There, I've said it. Although most of us don't even want to think about all the things that come with fall, school, work, cooler weather, we DO have something to look forward to, and that's the latest fall fashions, all of which are starting to pile in here at YU! Since many of us have chosen to ignore the upcoming season, I thought I would put together some outfits using our latest denim trends to inspire you. Here is a look at what I think are some of the best denim looks for this upcoming season: 

This first look is for those of you who think once the season changes, you can no longer wear ripped denim. I chose the new AG "Stilt" jeans in 9 Year Repair, and paired these slightly distressed jeans with the Heartloom "Celine Sweater" in Ash. To accessorize, I added Chan Luu's classic leopard print scarf in Blue and Rebecca Minkoff's "Mini Mac" in Royal. Finally, a pair of metallic Samra flats finishes off the look. This outfit is a great way to transition your distressed denim into the fall.

This next example is for those of you who don't think colored pants work for fall. For this look, I used "The Skinny" 7FAM cords in Peacock, and although you can't see the color very well, these cords are a stunning blue/green shade. As a top, I chose Rebecca Taylor's "Kaleidoscope Pullover" and for shoes, the Melissa "Ultragirl 2 by Jason Wu" shoes in Black. Lastly, I polished off this look with Rebecca Minkoff 's "Mini Mac" in Gray.

The last look I styled is for those of you who think printed pants are a no-no come fall. I chose 7FAM's  "Skinny" jean in Burgundy. I paired these pants with Joie's "Elvia" top in Caviar and Melissa "Devotion" shoes in Black. Underneath the Joie top I've added a simple black tank from Velvet. This outfit would be fabulous with a leather jacket for an evening out!

The lesson here is don't assume your hard year of shopping was all for nothing, your existing wardrobe plus a few new pieces from YU will give you the perfect wardrobe for fall!

Another Day, Another Sweater

Love this "Lake Tahoe Cardigan" from Free People! With it's light feel and blend of fall colours, this sweater will definitely be put to good use once the temperature falls. How great would this be worn over a simple tee, dark skinnies, riding boots, and a Chan Luu scarf? FAB.

Do you own a dress that's just a little too short? Too sheer? No need to fret, Free People has come up with the perfect solution: the "Seamless Mini Slip." These slips are extremely comfortable, have adjustable straps, and come in a multitude of colours; they are the ideal underpinning for all your "hard to wear" dresses!!!

We received a new Velvet delivery and I'm LOVING all the tribal prints...I mean you all saw me on the blog last week in them :) The tribal print is perfect for summer, but totally carries into fall...all the Velvet pieces are easy additions into any closet.

Who Wore It Better???

I was dressing Mabel earlier this morning and throughout the day, all I've thought about was how I wanted to be dressed just like her! So, I decided to try it on. This week, Mabel (and I) are wearing the Wildfox "Lennon Gypsy Baby" sweater with Free People's "Floral Denim Blazer" in Black. This  jacket is SO cute and SUPER comfortable, which makes it perfect for layering. Mabel decided to dress this look up with Catherine Popesco and Charlene K jewels. I, on the other hand, made mine a bit more casual (let's be honest here, I'm not as refined as Mabel) with a Chan Luu scarf. I don't know, I think I have the upper hand on Mabel this week...I have arms to carry my Rebecca Minkoff "Mini Mac" and legs to wear my Dreamy Delicious, but I guess those are just technicalities. What do you think, who wore it best???

Teal Floral Chiffon Blouse

I love everything about this "Teal Floral Chiffon Blouse" (above). Not only is the colour and graphic beautiful, but more than anything, it's the silhouette that I can't get over. Look at the draping, isn't it fabulous?!?

This "Seal Skin Tank" in Black Velvet is outstanding!!! How phenomenal is the back??? I like it paired with the "Teal Floral Pajama Pants," but would looooove it worn with black leather skinnies and towering platforms. FABULOUS.

Ahhh, More Lace...

What is there to say?!? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this dress! So simple, so lovely, so perfect. Paired with booties and a cropped leather jacket makes this an ideal mix of girly and edge, swap the jacket out for an oversized chubby knit cardigan, and you're left with the most perfect go anywhere, do anything outfit! C'mon, what are you waiting for? Sizes are EXTREMELY limited!!!

OMG, this latest Graham & Spencer delivery is seriously blowing my socks off!!! Each and every piece is absolutely stunning...

My favourite pieces are the "Pebble Chiffon" and "Georgette" blouses...super feminine and ethereal looking. The "Pebble Chiffon" top in Ivory is my version of a basic white tee; the perfect topper for all your colour and printed jeans. The "Georgette" blouse in Cream is just soooooo beyond perfect. How fab would it be with skinnies, boots, and a fur vest??? LOVE.

Alcee

As we've mentioned in numerous postings, prints remain a strong trend moving forward. However, if you feel that a graphic pant is too far beyond your comfort zone, relax, all is not lost...introducing the graphic top!!!

The black and white pattern on this Alcee top is for sure bold, but paired with dark skinnies, a leather jacket, and boots, it definitely is doable...even for the most timid among us :)

Madison Marcus

It seems as though green, and the many variations of it, will be a very popular colour come fall. We saw it yesterday in 7FAM's "Skinny" in Peacock, and the trend continues today with the arrival of the following two tops from Madison Marcus: the "Acclaim" in Emerald and "Eloquence" in Forest.

I feel that green is a great choice moving forward as it pairs beautifully with blue, grey, black, and brown in particular...all of which will appear in abundance as the fall/winter season nears. Another feature I'm completely loving is the "bow" aspect; whether worn loose or tied, this added detail lends an air of sophistication to these otherwise simple tops.

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel is embracing her inner hippie girl this week by showcasing Heartloom's "Laura Vest" and "Osa Top" from Joie. This combo, although simple, still makes a big statement and Mabel has always loved to turn a few heads. Jewels from Chan Luu glam up the look, all she needs now are some oversized sunnies, a pair of denim shorts, and a large floppy hat!

Just in from 7FAM: "The Skinny" in Peacock." Absolutely loving the richness of this colour!!! If you're a lover of all things jewel toned, OR if you're a fan of corduroy, these are definitely the pants for you...

Free People

This has to be one of my favorite Free People shipments we have ever received, EVER...(well,  maybe just since last week!). I totally fell head over heels for both the "Easy Rider Top" and "Floral Denim Blazer." Both pieces are great worn now, and will transition effortlessly into the fall.
