Velvet: Crochet Lace Fantasy

I'm weeping over Velvet's "surprise" delivery today, weeping!!! Contained within the cardboard box were the "Shireen Top" and "Voletta Dress," both received in Off White.

This floral themed, lace shell features scalloped edges, a partially sheer back, and hidden zip closure. Perfect topper for denim shorts, this tank positively SCREAMS summer; all that remains to complete the look is a messy topknot, turquoise earrings, and perhaps a wrist or two of wooden baubles ;)

"Voletta Dress" in Off White

If the top alone is not enough, perhaps the dress as well, is a MUST. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the "Voletta"; I think it's absolutely stunning! How gorgeous would it be with strappy sandals and crystal encrusted, gemstone earrings?!! PERFECT outfit for that next bridal/baby shower, don't you think?

What's Mabel Wearing???

 

The "ice age" is finally over (we hope)!!! This week, Mabel's celebrating the spring-like weather by sporting Velvet's "Aziya Leopard Army Jacket" in Multi by Lily Aldridge. This casual yet FABULOUS jacket is perfect for spring, great worn indoors and out. For an everyday look, pair with Velvet's "Aggie Tank Top" in Black, or, with a cool graphic tee for an edgier look. Mabels decided to embrace her inner yogi by layering boho-inspired jewels by Shakti, Julie Vos, and Jocelyn Kennedy. There are fewer things chicer and simpler than dresses for spring. Ms. Aldridge's collection for Velvet resulted in two such dresses...

The "Anna Slub Stripe Dress" in Black/Cream is both casual and sophisticated. I see this lovely number worn under a cropped denim jacket with flat espadrilles, and wrists FULL of wooden and gemstone bracelets.

The "Beki Rayon Jersey Dress" in Lime, I find a tad dressier. Its modern silhouette and "notice me now" colour pairs beautifully with a fitted leather jacket, ankle booties, and chunky, chain link necklaces. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one!

The bomber jacket, one of spring's biggest looks, has been brought to life in RT's "Tiger Silk Bomber" in Natural. She loves how it adds the perfect amount of edge to any outfit. Despite the gradual warming up in temperature, we still do live in Edmonton, so cozy knits are ALWAYS a good idea, especially when those knits are from Autumn Cashmere :) 

I'm definitely having a fan-girl moment over the "Sailor Stripe Boatneck Sweater" in Dew/Peacoat! I love the boxy cut, lightweight feel, and multi-coloured elbow patches...SUPER cute and SUPER fun, adorable with denim shorts and espadrilles.

For the edgier fashionistas out there, AC's "Skull Mesh Hi-Lo Knit" in Hemp/Navy Blue (pictured in Black/White) is a seasonal MUST! This open weave knit, though simple in the front, features a contrasting skull graphic in the rear for a touch of the unexpected. Pair with skinnies and wedge sneakers for a comfortable and stylish everyday ensemble.

Back in from Rails is the "Kendra" available in Mint/Slate, Black/White, and Red/Slate (not pictured). These super soft button down shirts are perfect whenever and however you decide to wear them. They look great tucked into your favourite skinnies with ankle boots, and a statement necklace, or, worn open over a graphic tee, denim shorts, and converse sneakers. These tops are well-loved, and for good reason!

 OMG, I "NEED" FP's "Floral Print Baseball Jacket" in Black Combo! I already own its predecessor in Indigo Blue, so it's only fitting that this one should come home with me too, right?!! Isn't that how these things usually go? LOL! 

Seriously, the versatility of this jacket is incredible; I love it worn as pictured, with a classic tee and jeans, but think it'll look fabulous over a simple black dress to liven it up.

We're SUPER excited over Free People's most recent delivery, but, then again, we always are!!! True to form, there are soooooooo many fabulous pieces, but somehow, we managed to narrow things down to a few of our favourites...

Something else I'm completely obsessed with is the "Patterned Kimono Cardi" in Black Combo. I LOVE everything about this particular piece: its fit, feel, and pattern. For the "hippie at heart" fashionista, this knitted beauty will be the perfect topper to any outfit!

SO in love with AG's "Legging Ankle" in Emerse, a worn-in black wash, with strategically placed "shredded" detail for an edgy, rocker vibe. To play this up, pair with a leather jacket, graphic tee, and motorcycle boots; for something sexier, a boyfriend blazer, lacy cami, and pointed toe pumps should do the trick. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these, so will you!

This year, this moto inspired topper is done in beautifully "washed" (lambskin) leather for a worn-in, much loved look and feel. Pair this jacket with a striped tee, your favourite skinnies, and a floral printed scarf for a Mabel emulated look :)

I don't know about you, but I LOVE a fabulous trench. It's a wardrobe "MUST" for every fashionista, is it not?!! Mackage's "Darby Trench Coat" in Black and "Inessa Trench w/ Leather Sleeves" in Navy has me in somewhat of a pickle...which one should I get??!

Mackage is to blame, at least partially, for our leather addiction as of late :) It's impossible to resist when they keep producing such lovely things. Just added to the floor are the "Nuri" and "Noelia", both available in Black.

This feminized utility jacket features a hi-lo hemline, frontal patch pockets, exposed gold hardware, tortoise shell buttons, and a leather trimmed, detachable hood. This is a great layering piece; fabulous with a turtleneck sweater, skinnies, and boots on a cooler day, and, with a classic tee, boyfriend jeans, and converse sneakers once the weather warms up.

Leather leggings are all the rage right now, and as you've already surmised, we're OBSESSED with leather around here!

 We're super excited to welcome the "Navi" back to the Mackage family, and introduce our Yu fashionistas to the "Miki", both made from soft, supple lambskin leather with varying zipper detail, and available in "rocker" Black. We've done A LOT of research on leather leggings, and found that compared to others, these are the most affordable option for a pair of fab leather skinnies!

These leggings are perfect paired with a silky tank and stilettos for a night on the town, or, with a chunky sweater and booties for an edgy, everyday look!
