What's Mabel Wearing???

Too much animal print? We don't think so! We definitely think Mabel has got it right! Because these two prints are quite soft and subtle, they work really well together, and don't overwhelm the outfit. Mabel's cheetah-licious look consists of Charlotte's "Mixed Animal Print Cardi" in in Black, a V-Neck Lauren Moshi tee, and Chan Luu's grey and black animal print scarf; she also has on a Claudia pearl and crystal necklace to help complete her look.

Joie: Luxe Basics

As you saw earlier, we received some great silkies from Joie this week , but also included were some of our fave basics: the "Russell" received in Porcelain and Dark Grey, and the "Teague" received in Bright Rose and Porcelain. If something weightier is more to your liking, we also received the "Mirrin" knit sweater in Heather Antique White. These pieces would ALL be great additions to your wardrobe...perfect for layering or simply on their own.

Joie: Silk, Silk, Silk

Two amazing silk tops were received from Joie today: the "Jaylene" in New Moon and "Watson" in Mushroom. Both these tops are perfect pairings for your favourite jeans, or with your best dress pants. The floral pattern on the "Jaylene" top makes it an ideal topper for capris when the weather starts to warm up, but for right now, I recommend wearing it with a leather jacket, jeans, and booties...the perfect mix of feminine and edge! The "Watson" top is the best...easy to dress up for work, yet easy enough to wear on an everyday basis; it looks fantastic paired with dark jeans, boots, and a HUMUNGOUS arm party!

Rebecca Taylor Goodies

I LOVE Rebecca Taylor...SO. MUCH. In addition to the "Leather Trim Blazer," there were soooooo many great tops in this delivery...seriously, how's a girl to choose??? The following is a very small sampling of the goodies received:

OMG...how fabulous is Rebecca Taylor's "Leather Trim Blazer" in Black?!? I love everything about it...everything!!! I adore the cropped length, peplum back, and bracelet length sleeve, not to mention the leather collar...what's not to love?

Not only would this be great worn over a LBD, but it would be absolutely incredible layered over a Lauren Moshi tee and your favourite pair of skinnies, try it!!!

I love a cropped jean, have always loved them, and 7FAM's "Skinny Crop & Roll" in Gleaming Red Cast may be my favourite thus far. With its sewn in cuff and perfectly washed look, these will owe me NOTHING by summer's end!!!

OMG...such an amazing day, we just received a HUGE shipment of everyone's favourite graphic tees by Lauren Moshi. Whether worn alone with leggings and boots, or layered under a leather jacket and skinnies, these tees should be a staple in everyone's wardrobe. The following are some of our top picks:

We're soooo excited over Charlotte Tarantola's latest delivery!!! This collection has everything from stripes, to florals, to colour blocking, and of course leopard print!!! Honestly, there's something here for everyone. The following are some of our top picks:

The "Leopard Intarsia Pullover" in Black and "Neon Boucle Jacket" in Icing are my absolute faves...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them both!!! I think the former would be amazing paired with either a leather skirt and/or pants...add a statement necklace (or two!) and you've got yourself a fabulous outfit. The boucle jacket with it's neon trim is such a fun interpretation of a classic; throw this on over a basic tank, skinnies, and a pair of ankle boots for an easy, go anywhere look.

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel's trip to Vegas took a BIG TOLE on her wallet!!! As a result, she is forcing herself to follow a strict spending budget that will hopefully bring her funds back up to par. Even though she is experiencing a tad bit of financial depression, and feeling extremely sorry for herself, she's looking for any excuse to SHOP SOME MORE! She has very eagerly dipped into our sale inventory, and found herself some great and affordable pieces. Mabel is wearing Free People's "Clarissa Cord" button up shirt in Red Combo, a graphic "Frankie" Lauren Moshi tee, an assortment of beaded Chan Luu necklaces, a berry colored Chan Luu Scarf, and Rebecca Minkoff's "Mac Daddy" bag in Chocolate. We all agree her look is effortlessly boho and would be great to wear for a casual week day.

Paige's Pick: Upcoming Trends of 2013

We all love to stay current and "in" with the latest, greatest, and "got to have this now" trends, so I thought what better topic to discuss this week then some of 2013's (and my) favorite, new trends! Some of the biggest trends this season will be Coral and Green in terms of color, sheer tops, leather, neon, and  graphic Black and White combinations. I chose to focus on my top 3 favorite upcoming styles.

The first trend I chose is Green. The color itself is so refreshing and different from anything that has been "in" over the last few years. Surprisingly, it is an easy color to incorporate into your existing wardrobes; it can be as bold or as neutral as you want it to be, which makes it an easy pairing with all your favorite denim. The items I chose are two of my favorites from the store: Vince's "Silk Dolman Tee" in Lime and Velvet's "Magic" dress in Heather Lime. If you don't feel bold enough to wear an entire t-shirt or dress in this color, but still want to try the color out, I recommend Rebecca Minkoff's "Woven Mac Daddy" (pictured above). Whether you choose to buy an entire outfit dedicated to Green, or just want to add a pop of color to your look is up to you, but no matter what, a hit of Green will surely enliven your wardrobe...that's for sure!

The second trend I chose was the sheer look. This look has become popular over time, but will be hitting an ultimate high in 2013. Sheer anything can add interest, boldness, and uniqueness to any outfit you choose. I'm currently obsessed with Velvet's "Ceta" top in Black paired with Chan Luu's "Sequin Bra," and the "Raine" blouse in Baltic also by Velvet. What's nice about the sheer look is that a tank top or bandeau will easily do the trick for something underneath; it's up to you how risque you want to make it. Both these looks are classy, unique, and fun, criterias making them totally obsessed worthy!

The third trend I chose is one that we have yet to receive in store. I was super excited about this look, so much so that I decided to jump the gun and show you a preview of what we'll be receiving shortly! The trend I'm talking about is Black and White. Black and white, as we all know, have gone together for years, so what's so different about this upcoming season you might ask? Now, rather than you having to put the pieces together yourself, the two colors come together, particularly in pants. We'll be receiving a shipment of graphically patterned black and white jeans from our favorite designer, 7FAM. Make sure to keep up with the blog so you know when to dash in and try out this very trendy look!

2013 is all about trying something new and bold...I hope you all will accept this challenge with me!

Velvet: (Semi) Dressy

It's no secret that I adore silkies, but I also love a good basic...Velvet has satisfied both my "loves" with their latest crop of semi-dressy tops. Though perfectly suitable on their own with jeans and boots, again, I plan on wearing mine under all the fabulous textured/patterned jackets that we're sure to get in...CAN'T wait!!!

Velvet: Dresses

Pieces by Velvet have become wardrobe "staples" for many of us...they're great anytime of year, but particularly so during Resort season. They're all super light, comfy, and incredibly versatile...qualities which make them great for traveling. If you're fortunate enough to be heading somewhere nice and warm in the next couple of weeks, you MUST drop by and pick up a dress or two. Not only will these be great worn with a jean jacket and flip flops, but they also make fabulous bathing suit cover ups!

Odd Molly

Phew, we've been all out of sorts lately over "technical difficulties" with our blog; however, the problem has now been resolved, and all's right with the world again :)

Great news for all our Odd Molly fans, we've just received a lovely shipment from them full of adorable sweaters and jackets. They always look fabulous worn over a basic tee, skinnies, and boots, BUT if you're a true bohemian at heart, try doing print on print and adding a Chan Luu scarf to the mix...the possibilities are endless! Mabel prolonged her stay in Vegas for a bit because her and her girlfriend were having so much fun, and couldn't bear the thought of having to return to chilly Edmonton; however, she is now back...in fact, she's just FLOWN through the door! Shes wearing our new Splendid "Striped French Terry Blazer" in Pearl, Soft Joie's "Dylan" tank in Porcelain, and a blush toned Chan Luu scarf along with a "vintage" pearl necklace also by the same designer. Her outfit, we believe, is the perfect mix of classy and casual...the perfect transitional plane to work look!!!

James Perse

For all you James Perse fans, I'm happy to announce we've received a shipment of some of yours, and our favorite basics along with a few new pieces!  So, even if don't "need" to replenish your basics from James Perse just yet, it never hurts to see what's available. We have the "Shadow Stripe Shell Top" in White, as well as the "Curved Hem Knit Twill Skirt" in Silverfox. What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel was a lucky girl and received a whole bunch of cash for Christmas, and in typical fashion, COULD NOT wait to blow it!!! Sooo...she's convinced one of her girlfriends to accompany her on a quick trip to Vegas for the weekend, just in time to hit all the post Christmas sales. Mabel is all ready to leave, sporting the perfect "plane to lunch" outfit. She has on Free People's "Baja Denim" jacket, a James Perse V-Neck tee, Chan Luu's English Rose scarf, and a beaded Claudia necklace. We all agree that this look is BOHO CHIC and SUPER CUTE, the perfect traveller's ensemble!!!

If you love the sophisticaton a blazer offers but aren't a fan of the structured feel, we've got just the thing...Splendid's "Striped French Terry Blazer" in Pearl. With this particular jacket, you've got the best of both worlds: comfort and polish. OMG, I was just saying the other day that the one thing I "needed" to complete my wardrobe this season was a Heather Grey t-shirt...the higher ups over at Vince must've heard me, because look what came traipsing through our doors yesterday?!?

Vince's "Linen Shirt-Tail Tee" in Light Heather Grey...BEST. TEE. EVER. With it's simple crewneck front and rear pleated detail, this top will be a great alternative to your classic white tee. While fabulous on it's own, I plan on wearing mine under a textured jacket with a sparkly necklace, or two, or three!!! Soooooooo excited, who says I'm not practical?!?
