Just In from Winter Kate

We all love Winter Kate here at the store, so were all super excited to receive a delivery today. We received another shipment of the "Roque Jacket" in Burnout Black, and a new style in the "Flying Fox." If this delivery is anything like the last few, these pieces will be flying out, so come in quick!!!

What's Mabel Wearing?

What's Mabel wearing this week???....definitely not rain boots! She's sick and tired of all this rain; however, this week she is not letting the wet weather rule her outfit. To cheer herself up, Mabel has layered on jewels from Jocelyn Kennedy and Claudia ( I don't know about you, but a little something sparkly ALWAYS cheers me up!!!). A pretty silk and lace top from Winter Kate, and a Doma leather in a soft beige makes Mabel's outfit super feminine and glamorous.

My Latest Obsession...

We just received these over-sized Jade Nugget rings from Chan Luu, and I am beyond obsessed. I love, love, love them!!! They are quite large, but like the Avant Garde rings, are very comfortable...the question is not whether or not I should get them, but how many should I get???

Four cute new cardis arrived from Charlotte today. This grouping has lots of pretty lace detail, and fun prints ( I especially love the mix of stripe and leopard print in the "Caramba" cardigan). These cardigans are great for layering over any of your silkies, come in and take a look for yourself.

This week Mabel is showcasing the new "Jasper" top from Joie; the bright colours in this top are so fun! I would wear this top with denim shorts in the summer, but if you want something a tad more conservative, you could top the shirt off with a James Perse "Utility Shirt" like Mabel has. For jewels, she is wearing an assortment of Jocelyn Kennedy necklaces; I love the combination with the top.

Top 5 Summer Essentials

We keep hearing that warmer weather is on its way, so in preparation for this, we've decided to compose a Top 5 list of summer essentials:

1. Maxi Dresses - These dresses have been seen in all the major fashion magazines out there, on just about every celebrity worth mentioning. Not only do these dresses look great, but they're also super comfy and versatile...they'd be the perfect "throw it on" piece to pack for any upcoming holiday. Can't you see just throwing one of these dresses on with a pair of flip flops??? LOVE!!!

2. Denim Shorts - Denim shorts have ALWAYS been, and will forever be, a summer staple. What's so great about them nowadays is that they come in a wide variety of washes, lengths, and silhouettes. You can get anything from super short cut-offs to trouser style looks. Nothing beats a pair of short shorts, and a basic tank on a super hot day, or dress them up with a cute peasant blouse for a night on the town!

3. Chan Luu Scarves - It's no surprise that these scarves once again, made one of our Top 5 lists. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!! These scarves are perfect year round, but are fabulous in the summer for a great punch of colour. Because they're so fine, they'd be perfect as a little topper in the evening, or great on the airplane as a little "snugglie." If you don't already own a Chan Luu scarf, try one, you won't regret it...promise!!!

4. Turquoise and/or Coral Jewellery - Few things remind me of summer more than turquoise and coral jewels. I like them alone, but LOVE them worn together in combination! Adding colour through your accessories is the quickest way to interject some life into your wardrobe.

5. Wedges - This is the shoe of choice for summer; you get the height of a heel, yet the comfort of a sandal (the best of both worlds!). This shoe can be easily worn with any of your shorts, or pair them with a maxi dress for a great summer look.

I absolutely LOVE the new Vince "Oversized Tee." We received it in Wood, which is a gorgeous brown color. I think this top will be perfect with skinny cargos, and will transition nicely into fall (or an Edmonton "summer").

We just received a new shipment from Winter Kate, and I'm in love with all three tops. Winter Kate always has fabulous prints and details, and this shipment is no exception. The two camis we received are both flirty and feminine; I especially love the Oakleaf Tunic in Black with its super cute button detailing down the back! All three tops would look fantastic paired with either boyfriend and/or skinny jeans.

I absolutely LOVE this top! After seeing it on the model, I want it so badly! I love that because it is silk, it totally dresses up the tee-shirt feel. Also, with the sleeve, it isn't necessary to layer, making it great for hot summer days. I would wear this with any of my denim basics, but am loving it with the red jeans!

Zip Zip Pant in "Mink"

A new skinny from Vince just arrived; this pant hits just at the ankle, and has a medium rise. The zipper detail at the ankle, and on the back pockets adds some edge to these skinnies while it's neutral color will be great paired with all your summer whites and creams.
