I LOVE Free People's "Rabbit In The Moon Cardi" in Vanilla Combo, love it!!! I adore the horizontal striped front and vertical striped back. The oversized, slouchy fit of this sweater practically BEGS to be tried on...the perfect topper to a basic tank and shorts outfit, all that's required now is a pair of ankle booties and a Chan Luu scarf!

OMG...are you dying over Free People's "Washed Denim Overall" in Brady Wash?!? We are!!! This distressed wash skinny overall with classic 5-pocket styling has a modern, sexier feel than overalls of the past. Though it looks adorable styled with a slouchy tee and sneakers, it would be fantastic with a fitted tank and booties. SO. COOL.

We're so loving the "Laser Cut Mini Skylar" with its laser cut floral design and polished pyramid stud detail. This "saddle" inspired cross-body bag is adorable, and would pair beautifully with a summer dress and ankle booties.

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel's spontaneous ways never ceases to surprise us...she just purchased a first class ticket to Barcelona with her bff! Her inspiration to jet off came when she popped into YU and bought a brand new outfit she thought would be perfect for sight-seeing, hot weather, and breezy beaches! Mabel is wearing Maison Scotch's "Rock Theme Tee" in Beige and James Perse's "Knit Twill Shorts" in Alligator. For a cool finish, shes added Free People's "Heather" denim vest in Mirage. To accessorize her picture perfect travelers look, Mabel chose not one, but two turquoise necklaces by Jocelyn Kennedy as well as Brave's "Samy" cross-body bag in Sand; she's also planning on adding a fedora to complete her uber cool look

Britt's Must Have!!!

I've been contemplating the purchase of our "Ombre Moto" leather jacket for quite some time now. The minute it came in, I knew I had to have it...somehow, some way!!! It was really just a matter of whether or not it would be a practical option for me. Well...I've given it a lot of thought, and have come to the conclusion that YES it is most definitely the jacket for me.

What first sold me on the jacket was the fact that it was OMBRE! I am in LOVE with the ombre effect, and think it brings such a cool edge to the jacket. I've also never come across another jacket quite as exciting. I'm one of those girls who craves originality, another reason why the purchase of this jacket was a given...my wallet never stood a chance!!!

Secondly, I LOVE the fact that this jacket has a detachable hood. I think it's such a great idea, and gives you the option of having both a casual and dressy jacket. I think it would look super cute with jeans and motorcycle boots, or black skinnies and sleek, platform stilettos. I love how you can switch the jacket around to suit different occasions; it's basically like you're paying for 1 fabulous jacket, but get 2 instead...what a steal!!!

I have already mentally purchased this jacket, now it's just a matter of swiping the card!

Paige's Pick: Leather Love

It's not possible to put on anything leather, and not feel just a little bit sexier than the moment before. Leather is so versatile, and by no means limiting, making it an option for anyone looking to try out a different look, or step out of their comfort zone. This week I did a pick based on my most current obsession: leather! I've decided to put together three outfits: three different looks for three different occasions.

I'm currently in love with the look above: so simple, yet so cool. I chose Mackage's "Havana" leather shorts in Black; their slouchiness and length are great for giving an outfit a casual look while infusing it with a little bit of edge. I kept the top simple as well, using Lily Aldridge's "Leslie" tank (deigned for Velvet) in White, and AG's "Harper" denim jacket in Topanga Embroidery. For shoes, I used Ash's "Nikita" booties in T Moro, and as accessories, chose Rebecca Minkoff's "Mab Tote" in Almond, and a Charlene K agate necklace. You can NEVER go wrong with a classic look like this!

This next look is definitely the dressiest of all the looks I've put together. I chose Mackage's "Navi" leather pants in Black and Joie's "Elvia Top" in New Moon. Parker's "Ella Top" in Off White is the tank I used to layer under the lace...definitely one of our favorite looks here at the store. To accessorize this look, I chose Ash's "Dune" booties and Brave's "Gabriella" clutch, both in Black. This would be the perfect outfit for an evening out on the town! 

My final look is by far the coolest of the bunch. I started with Doma's "Ombre Moto" jacket in Black, and paired it with Free People's "Swirl Tank" in Natural Combo. For pants, I chose AG's "Legging" denim in Gala, keeping the denim dark puts the focus on the top. For accessories, I chose a Chan Luu charm necklace and Rebecca Minkoff's "Mac Daddy" in Black. Finally, I kept the look cool and simple, adding a pair of snake skin Samra Flats. How amazing is this Doma leather???

After this blog post, I'm sure tons of you have scissors at the ready eager to get at your leather couches. Instead, try to resist, and pop into YU to satisfy your leather cravings!

What's Mabel Wearing???

Mabel's in a Free People kind of mood today, so much so, that she's wearing it HEAD TO TOE!!! She has on the "Sahaying Print Skirt" in Slate Combo, their "Slub Stripe" blazer in Navy/Cream, and the "Waterfall Graphics" tank in Ivory Combo, which we are currently obsessed with! The tank is usually rather drapey, but Mabel has it tied up in a side knot, which is totally cute, and a definite MUST TRY! Along with her Free People swag, Mabel has on crystal and turquoise necklaces by JK, and the "Samy" suede pouch by Brave.

Mabel looks tribal chic in this outfit, and is definitely the perfect spokes model for FREE PEOPLE!!!

We're BEYOND excited to welcome back Equipment, a label we have greatly missed. Started in the 70s, "the Equipment collection features modern, androgynous silhouettes, discreet sex appeal, luxe fabrics, unexpected details and feminine riffs on men's shirting." OMG...I've been waiting 6 loooooooooooooooong months for Rebecca Taylor's "Tweed Jacket" in Optic White, and it's finally here!!! SOOOOOO gorgeous, is it not?!? I love the deconstructed style of this classic, long and lean silhouette. The frayed edging gives this elegant jacket a modern update. I love the look of it over a basic white tank and jeans, but think it would be equally stunning over a graphic tee with layers upon layers of long necklaces.

This jacket was most definitely worth the wait, but then again, her jackets always are!!!

Rebecca Taylor: Easy Breezy

A small Rebecca Taylor delivery was the PERFECT way to top off a very busy, and exciting week at the store. As always, we loved everything that came in, and so will you...promise! Here's just a snippet of the goodies received...

Rebecca Taylor's "Pieced Shell" received in Cream is the definition of a versatile top. This breezy, silk cap sleeved blouse with a sexy, sheer V-Neck overlay is great for both day and night wear. For day, I see it with ankle length skinnies and ankle boots; for evening, with leather shorts and platforms. Jewellery, of course, would be required for both...either stone based bracelets or sparkly gems, your choice.

Joie's "Marru" top is one of this season's top sellers (we've already received it in Fiery Red and Blue Aster), and it's not hard to see why. This semi-sheer silk top with pleated detailing at the front and cuffs is so simple, and easy to wear; the gathered elastic banding at the bottom provides for the perfect amount of draping, and allows the top to stay "put." Throw it on with your favourite pair of jeans, or shorts and you're good to go.

Look Of The Day: If I Could...

Christine popped in today to pay us a visit, and somehow ended up in an outfit I would totally wear if I could: Joie's "Devitri Cardigan" in New Moon and Vince's "Tennis Shorts" in Black. For those of you who don't know this about me, I DO NOT, under any circumstances wear shorts (or skirts, or dresses, or anything where my dimply knees are exposed!!!), I just admire them on others. Oh well, I guess we can't ALL be perfect! For a casual feel, all that's needed are a pair of flats or wedges, but to dress up this look, a pair of fabulous booties should suffice.
