I have always had a love/hate relationship with Free People; I LOVE all of the pieces, and HATE how I can't possibly own it all ( It's always impossible to choose a favourite piece). This shipment is full of soft pastels in varying shades of pinks and creams, and is appropriately named the "New Romantics" collection. Mabel's New Necklace!

Mabel needed a little pick-me-up on such a gloomy day, so she went shopping! Her new necklace from Jocelyn Kennedy is definitely a statement piece, how can you be grumpy about the weather with such a stunning piece adorning your neck?

What's Mabel Wearing?

Mabel is rocking the neutral color tones in the Molly dress from Joie and multiple strands from Jocelyn Kennedy. For a more causal, everyday look, Mabel could add a belt and a chunky knit sweater. I really love combining neutrals, it can create a great urban safari look and you can always add a pop of color with a fabulous pair of shoes!

More Charlotte...

Another fabulous Charlotte Tarantola cardigan was received today: the "Instinct." This sweater is great not only because of the leopard print in the front, which we've already declared a "basic," but the back is composed (almost) entirely of matte black sequins!!! I'd throw this cardi on over a little silkie, and skinny jeans...For those of you not quite ready for the animal print, this cardigan also came in a solid black.

Equipment is my go-to brand for button down shirts; I just love the look of them. I honestly wear one at least once a week...so versatile. The new leopard print shirts we received will be absolutely perfect for fall...Wear one with skinny jeans, bell bottoms, or even tucked into the new Joie leather skirt. If you are skeptical of leopard,don't be, it's a basic... it goes with everything.

What's Mabel Wearing: Transition Edition

The weather is so up and down here that is a necessity to quickly transition an outfit from summer to fall, or vice versa. My absolute favourite way to take an outfit from summer to fall, is by throwing a sweater over a summer dress. Today, Mabel is wearing the Splendid "Polka Dot Dress" with Velvet's "Dione" sweater. For jewellery, I kept it light with long necklaces from Jocelyn Kennedy, Karyn Chopik, and BRITTA. The statement necklace by JK is perfect for fall as it will balance out a heavier sweater. I'd also change up the shoes, for summer I see this with a nice pair of wedge sandals, but for fall, short biker boots would add a bit of edge.

I know it still seems a little early to be thinking of fall, but these sweater are the perfect thing to snuggle up in on a rainy day. All four sweaters have a relaxed fit, and are great for layering. The neutral colors also make them super easy to incorporate into your existing wardrobe.

Loving Polka Dots!!!

I'm obsessed with everything polka dotted at the moment, which explains my love of this Splendid dress. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! I think it's a classic dress, with a whimsical touch...pair this with a denim jacket for the perfect summer outfit, but throw an over sized knitted sweater on top, with a great pair of boots, and you've got a great look for fall...we're all about practicality!!!
