What's Mabel Wearing?

The cold weather we've been having lately, is making Mabel dream of warmer climates. To cheer herself up, Mabel is wearing the Joie "Sabine" top in Granite from their Resort Collection, and the "Chains of Love Sweater" in Sand from Free People's most recent grouping. These two pieces definitely make you think of sandy beaches, unfortunately instead of sandy beaches Mabel has snow banks, so to add some extra warmth she is wearing a Chan Luu scarf in Cinder. To finish off her outfit, she's wearing a few Jocelyn Kennedy and Karyn Chopik necklaces (some sparkle is always need!).

We've received new Free People right before Christmas! I love the Chains of Love Sweater, such a cute sweater... a favourite of Diane's. The Floral Cozy Vintage Sweater is a great open sweater that I am imagining wearing with skinny jeans, combat boots, and a Chan Luu scarf. The other two items are a little bit more resort... and will be perfect for a tropical getaway. Drop by and take a look after Christmas!

New Goodies from Chan Luu

Here is a quick peek at what's new from Chan Luu! I love the new hounds tooth print scarf; it's a bit thicker then the regular Chan Luu scarves, but I love the fuller look of it. We also received more of the Chan Luu wrap bracelets in a variety of crystal, and natural stone combinations. Hurry in, you won't be disappointed!

What's Mabel Wearing?

      Mabel has been very busy over the past few weeks getting ready for the holiday season, but now she's back and looking as stylish as ever. This week she is wearing the perfect outfit for doing all of her Christmas shopping. The Wildfox tank is super comfy, and is really easy to wear (just throw it on and go!), and it adds a little edge to the outfit (I love the subtle cheetah print). The "Open Stitch Wrap" James Perse cashmere sweater, and Chan Luu scarf are both great layering pieces, and definitely keep Mabel nice and toasty. Layering is an excellent way to stay comfortable and stylish while you're out braving the Christmas shopping masses...if you get too hot, just remove a layer (running around the mall this time of year can cause you to break a sweat!)...the finishing touch to this great ensembl, a few Jocelyn Kennedy and Chan Luu necklaces which add some much needed sparkle.

We just opened a box of Seven's today, and hooray the "Utility" pants are back!!! We originally received them in "Dusty Olive," which sold out super fast..., but for those of you who may have missed out on these on the first go-around, don't fret...we just got them in "Charcoal." These would be great worn with a pair of platform pumps for evening, and tucked into fabulous biker boots for day...hurry in before they sell out again!!!

New Vince!!

For all of you lucky enough to have purchased this great sequin top, we just received the boyfriend chino pants in this colour... super comfy, lightweight cotton with a little bit of stretch. I love the pairing of sequins with a casual pant...throw on dressy booties, and you're good to go. Pair these pants with a casual tee, cardi, and ta-dah you're ready for a day of shopping and lunch with the girls. These pants are from the Resort collection; I'm jealous of all of you fortunate enough to be jetting off to warmer climates...pack these, you won't regret it!!!

Wildfox Couture

This is the first season we've picked up "Wildfox Couture," a line by two childhood friends: Emily Faulstich and Kimberly Gordon. They designed this line based on love and having fun!!! . If you recognize some of the prints, it's because all the cool celebrities have discovered it as well!!!

They are known for the over-sized sweatshirt, so comfy and cozy!!! I love them all, and can't really decide which one(s) to get.We received the Tiger Baggy Beach Jumper in Black and White. Come in and see for yourself. Keep checking back, we're getting the sequin No.9 perfume bottle you've seen on Taylor Swift..........

Fashionistas Beware...

Have you ever been in a situation where something was either said, or done to you that was so bizarre you didn't know how to react? I can now say I have. I was doing some Christmas shopping the other night when the following conversation took place between myself and a stranger:

Stranger: "Excuse me, I love your shoes. They're very sexy."
Me: "Thanks." (As I'm talking to him, I'm taking note of his shearling hat, which I thought was pretty cool.)
Stranger: "I love your (faux) leopard coat as well...very stylish."
Me: "Thanks."
AND THEN IT TURNS...
Stranger: "Can you answer a question for me? Do you have a brain?"
Me: (dumbfounded) "Pardon???"
Stranger: "Do you have a brain?"
Me: "Yes, I have a brain." (Should have walked away at this point, why I didn't, I'll never know.)
Stranger: "Do you use it??? Or were you just born to look stylish?"
Me: (In as curt a voice as I could muster) "Yes, I use it."
Stranger: "Miss, what's your name?"
Me: "Diane." (Again, why I gave him my name, or continued with this conversation, I'll never know.)
Stranger: "What do you do for fun?"
Me: (Quite annoyed at this point) "Not much. I'm just a girl who happens to like fashion, has a brain, and uses it."
Stranger: "Oh, you're boring, not a little boring, BIG boring!!!" AND THEN HE WALKS AWAY!!! Can you believe it???

OMG!!! I can't believe this happened to me! I'd like to think that I am a competent person who can (usually) handle herself in difficult circumstances, but I was totally, and completely floored. I couldn't come up with anything (clever) to say!!! I was telling a customer this story today, when she gave me the BEST possible response: "Yes, I'm a real live Barbie doll, now piss-off!!!" (Thanks Alicia!!!) Wish I would've come up with that one on my own last night!!! Yes, I do have brain; unfortunately, it just wasn't fully functioning last night...hahahaha. Obviously I need to brush up on my "smart come-back" repertoire, so please kindly leave suggestions as to what I could possibly say the next time something like this happens to me...thanks!!! xoxoxo

They are trendy, but still very classic, and can be worn all year round. I love these pants with an Equipment shirt tucked in. It's a modern yet classic look, very Audrey Hepburn. More 7 For All Mankind

We just unpacked these great "Patch Pocket Utility Pants" (in this color) from one of our favourite denim lines: 7 For All Mankind!!! They fit like a dream...fitted in the leg like a legging, with the added bonus of a looser fitting waistband...bye-bye "muffin top." What more could you ask for??? We also received a straight leg feather weight pant in Charcoal (Shelley, I hope you're reading this......). Come in and take a look before they're all gone!!!

More Free People!

More goodies from Free People are in! The Dew Drop Cardi in "Offwhite" (pictured above) is the perfect weekend cardigan to throw on while you're out and about running errands. We also received the Smooth Sailin' top in "Teacombo". This sleeveless top is done in a floral print, and Mary's Mesh top in "Oatmeal"  is a super cute cropped tee...super cozy and soft. We are always so excited to open the boxes from Free People; there's always something unusual and different inside.

New Vince!

I'm loving the "Boyfriend Chinos" from Vince; they're super cute and comfy...definitely a fashion forward piece. One of our regulars (Claire) had them on with the Kid Dangerous "Fashion Tee", and she looked so cool! The other piece we received was the Upside Down Cardigan in Grey Brown. A perfect cardigan to throw on over jeans, and a tee shirt.

Britta!

Britta is a talented Edmonton jewellery designer whose pieces have been seen on Hilary Duff and Britney Spears. We received some of her stretch charm bracelets (top row), and semi-precious stone bracelets (bottom row). I love all of Britta's bracelets; they look great layered!!!  Along with the bracelets, we also received some new earrings, and necklaces. Drop by and take a look!

Kid Dangerous Grime Couture

We just received a great new line of fun graphic tees. Kid D launched its first line in June 2007 at Kitson, the trendy L.A boutique. Kid D wanted a middle ground for consumers who appreciate the world of high fashion but still like to dress outside the mainstream. They want to develop quality products with stark in-your-face graphics. We think they've achieved this, what do you think?? Come in and take a look.
