Style Highlight: Throwback Mood

Canada's "River City", Edmonton Alberta, sets the perfect stage for this vintage-inspired ensemble. Reminiscent of old photos and film, this look takes us back to the 70's with peach undertones, floral prints, and a visual representation of the dark and moody side of this decade.

Just like an artist working on a masterpiece, we are guided by our inspiration, a central theme, and motivated to present the work in a balanced yet thought-provoking way. In our masterpieces, we always incorporate a thing or two of media mixing. Our opinion? We LOVE it!!! Contributing to this textured love affair is Vince's "Teddy Cardigan" in Dark Camel, or what we call a "teddy coat", a style born from the faux fur trend and donning a resemblance to a beloved childhood teddy bear. This shearling coat has been an ESSENTIAL with fashion powerhouses such as Alexander McQueen. We see this flaunted in an array of colours and variations.

Just as cozy, it's no secret that velvet and velour have made a serious comeback. A wide-legged velour pant, such as what's pictured, keeps it simple and practical, without sacrificing what makes it great in the first place. We see this trend remaining SUPER strong into the Spring!

But what's a vintage throwback without some iconic throwback trends? C/MEO Collective captures this perfectly; the "Gossamer" top screams RETRO! Its ruffle bell sleeves and navy botanic print has us swooning. Are we back in the 70's!?! As if that wasn't enough, we take on print mixing with tiger slides (SENSO's "Rooney II"). Constructed of pony hair, these mules (also BIG this season and next) feature statement rhinestone embellishments that are TO DIE FOR!

With an ensemble that not only looks aesthetically appealing but exudes a moody, vintage, free-spirit, we're confident in saying this 70's look is timeless. Don't think you can pull this off? Think again.
