AG: Vintage

We ALL have our favourite "tried and true" cuts from AG, BUT we're always super excited when a new "body" is introduced...such is the case with AG's latest, the "Aubrey" in 10 Years Rio. This modern, straight leg silhouette is part of the AG-ed Vintage Collection. A collection where "the older the age, the lighter and more distressed" the denim.

These jeans are great if you want the slender look of skinny, but without the constriction!

NEW LINE

The "Togo" in Limestone and "Cameo" in Blue Earth
The "Montagu" in Red Earth and "Agbada" in Oyster Shell

We received new Line Knitwear today; all of the pieces are great basics with subtle twists, setting them apart from the rest of your wardrobe "classics." My favorite is the "Cameo" sweater in Blue Earth; I think this is a total 80s revival, I'm picturing wearing it with the Vince "Jogging Pants"... what a way to complete the 80s athletic look?!?

New Line Knitwear

Wait...Line Knitwear does dresses??? I told you guys I'd be cranking out the blogs. I hope you're NOT sick of me already; I think this may be my last blog for my time here, unless Diane wants me to model a gorilla suit or something (thank God we aren't receiving fall stock)! Anyways, the "Vortex" dress in Caviar may not have any hanger appeal, but man does it have sex appeal! Haha. This is the perfect dress to throw on for a last minute event. The draping is super flattering for all bodies, reminding me very much of Alexander Wang. Pair it with your new Minkoff and you'll be ready to hit the town!

Mac Clutch

Mac Clutches in Jungle, Beige, and Purple

OMG!!! I'm loving the EASTER colors in the "Mac Clutch" we just received from Ms. Minkoff! I think these would be so fun right now with an all-black outfit for a POP of color, and of course once the weather gets nicer, I think they'll be great mixed in with all the other colors you'll be wearing! What do you guys think? Maybe I can convince my mom to get me one seeing as she gave up shopping (for herself) for Lent... fingers crossed!

James Perse

*We also received replenishments of your favourite basics: the "Long Tank" and "Contrast Panel Shirt."

Look of the Day: Jerd Edition

So, I may be a little bias...but, I think my outfit is most definitely the look of the day! This Autumn Cashmere "Hand Knit Skull" sweater has been a staple of mine since my mom bought it for me after a midterm week from hell! I've worn it with leggings and jeans all week, and today I thought I'd pay homage to my girlie side by pairing it with a skirt. Of course, everyone knows I'm the least girlie girl, so the skulls toughen up the look. So as NOT to appear too dressy, I also added my wedge sneakers by Ash, and a cashmere toque. For jewellery, I kept it pretty simple with my staples; I always wear a Jugar 'N Spice necklace, today it's the "OMG" necklace. I just love this jewellery line, all the pieces are super fun and perfect for everyday, and of course, I LOVE it when people ask "are you really wearing OMG on your neck???" If anyone knows me, they know that the 14 bracelets (yes... I've counted) stay permanently on my right wrist at all times. They're the guests that have overstayed their welcome at my arm party...but, I love them too much to ask them to leave! My guests all originated from Yu Fashion (naturally) consisting of Tai, Love Heals, and Elephont, and obviously, no outfit is complete without red lips!!!

Jerd's Corner: Mint

Mint is THE color for spring, and trust me, it's much easier to wear than you would think. To help our favorite Yu girls out, I've come up with four outfits that are sure to put some "spring" in your step. I tried to do a range of outfits to show how truly versatile mint can be.

Look 1: I thought it would be fun to play with color, texture, and pattern all in one outfit, personally I think it is accomplished here. If you had to buy any jean for spring, it should be the Seven for All Mankind "Skinny" in Mint. They will be your spring trend jean; I love these paired with Vince's "Leather Tank." For a little fun, I added Ella Moss' "Feather Tail Blazer" in Linen, the subtle neon pattern complements the mint for a fresh spring look. And of course, no fashionista is complete without her Minkoff! I think this outfit would be perfect for a casual Friday at the office followed by drinks downtown.

Look 2: This look is just SO easy; it is the baby step of baby steps into mint territory! There is NO excuse not to wear color, I made it super easy for you! I love Ella Moss' "Stella S/S Top" in Mint with Mackage's "Hidi" Jacket in Brick, totally unexpected but totally works. Paired with vintage Seven for All Mankind "Skinny" jeans, this is a no-brainer look, perfect for running errands.

Look 3: As I was coming up with this look, I automatically thought of the Kardashian sisters. I probably watch too much reality TV, but I envision this outfit on a date night, or pull a "Kardashian" and wear this to your next pedicure. I love when clothing kills two birds with one stone,  and these jeans do just that (floral and color...hello investment)! A subtle mint "Sleeveless Henley" by Rebecca Taylor works perfectly with the printed pants, and to pull the outfit together is the "Mazzy Blazer" by Ella Moss. I think this blazer is a perfect staple for spring, something that you could throw on over anything,  and look instantly polished. Add some sky high nude pumps, and people will be asking whether you are the 4th Kardashian!

Look 4: This look is dedicated to a boho goddess, a goddess that should be living in LAX as opposed to YEG. The Maison Scotch "Pima Chino(s)" in Azure are probably the cutest summer pant, they're just screaming for a pair of espadrilles or flip-flops. To keep with the bohemian look, I added the Vince "Drop Shoulder Top" in Stone and every bohemian's staple, the Chan Luu scarf. The feathers on the Brave purse will unleash anyone's inner hippie!

So, there you have it, I hope you all give mint a try! It's not hard, I promise... I'm typing this blog with mint nail polish on, and I seriously can't wait to wear more of this color for spring!

Paige's Pick: If I Had...

The impractical side of me: If I had a million dollars, I'd buy clothes and shoes...and bags...and jewelry...and be SO, SO, SO happy and stylish! The practical side of me: If I had a million dollars, I'd buy clothes and shoes...and bags...and jewelry...and then I'd have 1 dollar. This dilemma has yet to present itself; however, I'd like to think that if I had a million dollars, I'd still be practical and spend my money wisely. So, this being the case, I decided that I would allow myself three (splurge) items from YU. Have a look below at my must haves:

1. I would pick our new Mackage "Larissa" leather jacket in Lite Grey. This jacket is the perfect spring jacket, mostly because of its color; it would pair so easily with light, bright, dark, and every other color in between! The detailing on this jacket is awesome; the quilted shoulder gives it a "dressier" feel, yet does not take away from the jacket's motorcycle-esque look. This neutral jacket would be a great addition to any closet!

2. Okay, so I know some of you are probably still in the, "I can't wear colored pants, it's just not me" phase, but let me tell you, you're preaching to the choir! That is until now, anyways. I am obsessed with 7FAM's "Skinny" jeans in Bright Aqua; the color is gorgeous and so refreshing...not to mention the fact that mint is the hottest color of the season!!! The feel and stretch of these pants are unreal (don't worry if you forget yoga pants for your next class, just keep these on!).

3. This new Rebecca Minkoff "Cupid" bag in Purple is my third million-dollar pick. I love this bag and think it would be so cool to add to a neutral outfit. The color of this bag is great for summer, and can be worn with many different colors, not just to neutrals. Bags should be fun, so don't worry about "matching." I also love the style of this bag; it can be worn either cross body, or as a hand bag, which makes throwing it on as a final accessory for an outfit super easy to do. Rebecca certainly out did herself on this one!

Now I just need to win the lottery, simple right??? ;)
